Another question, who does your guys' grading during the test?

I know here in Mass., we are in the driver's seat, a State Trooper is in the passenger seat doing the grading, and then our driver's ed instructor is in the back for "comfort."

It's alright, I know people who have failed 2+ times.

Mine was ridiculously easy though. I parallel parked, and after that it went:

      Straight
      Stop Sign
      Right Turn
      Straight
      Stop Sign
      Right Turn
      Straight
      Stop Sign
      Right Turn
      Pull into parking lot

It was just a random lady that worked for the DMV, I missed 1 point for not signaling out of the parking lot. The only thing besides making turns and changing lanes was backing up in a straight line for maybe 50 feet.

They actually waste a State Trooper's time doing driver's tests?

            Yup.

If you think sitting next to some random lady from the DMV is nerve-racking, imagine sitting next to a 6'2, 220+ pound scary looking dude in a Uniform.

The dude laughed at me (which helped kill my nerves a lot) when I basically choked up right at the beginning. After that moment it was smooth sailing.

That is unreal, I wonder how often they have to go sit-in on tests. It probably helps kids pass it when you think of it, granted everyone is probably scared ish-less like you, but there's no way you'll roll through a stop sign or go through a yellow light w. that dude sitting next to you!

                Exactly.

I was so scared to mess up that I passed with flying colors. Luckily he was friendly, so I wasn't nervous and didn't make any dumb mistakes...I was just scared to **** up. If that makes sense.

mine was easier. All I did was turn right out of the DMV parking lot, go across an intersection, do a 3 point turn, and come back.

                  Didn't even take 5 minutes.

If I drove the way I drive now, during my driving test.

                    I would have failed miserably.

The guy failed me because I didn't cover the brake with my foot on an unmarked intersection.

I thought, give me a break.

He had to prove it to me when we came back to the DMV.

I heard a myth that they usually fail guys the first time and pass the lady's the first time. I don't know if it is true or not, but it appeared to be true at our HS.

I also heard several states are talking about moving the drivers age up to 17. My cousin is a insurance salesman and he said guys have the more serious accidents at 16 while girls at 16 have more fender benders using the cell phone trying to text people.

I'm up for any rule that doesn't allow 14 year olds on the road, even if it's with a parent (like it is in Michigan). It's just crazy witnessing a middle schooler driving around, barely able to see above the dash.

Wow..I really Failed. This is extremely difficult to get over. Now I have to wait a week just to be able to scheldule another test, And its no telling when that will be. And what if I dont get schelduled at the same place. It will be like taking a completely new test, not knowing what to expect. Boy this blows...I never felt this way in my life. I'v been wanting my license for years and when the time comes for me to take it I choke. I feel like Tony Romo.

Even Romo didn't choke that hard. At least he has Carrie Underwood and Jessica Simpson to his name.

                              Re: Help Drivers Test Tommorow!

I "rolled" through about four stop signs because I didn't wait exactly three seconds before going again (I was about 2.5, honestly). I also was deducted for, something that I noticed when I did it, I was in the leftmost turn lane of two left turn lanes, and on my turn I ended up in the right of the two lanes. But like I said, I caught it instantly.

I was driving my dad's truck which I never drive (our other car was in the shop), and it was just so big for me to handle, I guess I wasn't very good at seeing in the front or seeing the lane switch or what have you.

The rest was super easy. Actually, all of it was... that's just the places I was deducted.

The only bad part about that day was when I had to get my picture retaken and now I have a god awful license picture. The only reason is because they had to completely redo my information because, I guess I never realized it, but for six months my permit said that I was a Female. I don't know why it was like this and I never noticed it... the person at the DMV pointed it out. So I went from a good looking picture to a terrible one. Oh well. Just goes to show that being a girl brings out the ugliness in you.

I didn't have to do the parallel parking either. I thought I had to, though, and had it down so that if I did I would have been fine. We still had to do the three-point turn though.

The parallel parking thing is pretty stupid anyways since, unless you live in an urban area (which most of us don't), there is no use for it in almost all cases.
