If you could go out to dinner anywhere, where would it be?
Tomorrow is my birthday. My wife and step-daughter are meeting my parents for dinner, and I can chose anywhere I want. We will be meeting in Mentor OH. I don't expect too many people to know where that is, but some will. EG. Anyway, keep in mind it can't be a place where it would cost like $500. I want to go somewhere that I don't normally get to go to. Around me I have a Texas Roadhouse, Applebees, Damons, Fridays, Outback, and chilies. I want something different. I am open to anything really. Any ideas. Where would you pick??

Mentor, you'll be where I live!! WOOT
Tons of the same ol same ol here. BUT, go to Willoughby, next city over depending on where in Mentor you are meeting and hit the Willoughby Brewing Company. It's in downtown Willoughby (it's small, but old train station type area), then go to Scooters for desert (ice cream), it's about a 2 min walk away, and has been around for about 80 years.
At Brewing Company, get the Buffalo Chicken Eggrolls for the appetizer, my favorite in the planet, and they have won Taste of Cleveland many times.
Awesome place!Comment

I know exactly where you are talking about. I have been by there but never went. That is def an option now. Any other places that fit that mold up there? I am somewhat familiar with Mentor. I just don't know the good places other than the same old stuff.Comment

Um, let's see, there's always Smokey Bones on Rt 306 or Bravo, but both are chains.
Mentor has tons of restaurants, but many of them are the normal chains unfortunately.
A good cheap steakhouse in Willoughby is Texas Roadhouse, that's on 91 and 90.
If you don't mind a bar type place with great food, you can hit Panini's in Willoughby off Euclid Ave.Comment

FYI, I don't eat at the Outback in Mentor, we go to the Mayfield one, the Mentor one I've never had a good experience at.Comment

Where? WBC? The place is killer. It's an old train repair station, so the inside is very unique. The food is awesome, I don't drink, but all my buddies love the beer.Comment

Travel to Charleston, WV and get some awesome Italian food at Fazio's!!! That is still by far the best Italian place I've ever been too. Too bad I can't go there anymore since it's so far away.Comment
