No. It's more fun proclaiming the end of the world. It doesn't matter if it's "OMG The Dow is dropping" or "OMG The Dow is going up", we're all still gonna die because of this. I'll be heading to my bomb shelter of dread and fear right after I submit this post!

I can almost guarandamntee you that tomorrow in the newspapers there will be hardly any mention of the market having its biggest day ever. If it's not negative, and doesn't make a flashy headline for above the fold, the dailies tend to ignore it. Tomorrow is going to be one of those days.

I dont know that id call this a dead cat bounce. If it had been more modest, 200-300 points, maybe, but almost 1k is more than a moderate move upwards. Nonetheless, i get where you were going with your comment.

Yeah a DCB might be too strong of a comment - but ppl have to understand the market was down nearly 50% from the high this year and nearly 20-25% in the past 3 weeks. Today u got 10% back, it was a obvious short term trade opp.

People assume financial markets operate in correlation to an economy - its not a clear cut relationship in short term context and thinking that way can get you in trouble.


I would predict there will be another 500 point drop day before friday.

One thing that is always true: There will never be an overnight fix to a huge problem.

Right now we're going to have these swings regularly until we get some type of credit stabilization in the markets.

I saw a great buying opportunity yesterday and feel terrible about not pulling the trigger. Could've made $1K in about 24 hours.

Guys jump in, invest whatever, then jump out.

Incorrect, thats not whats wrong with the economy. Thats called taking profits, and people do it in every walk of life. The problem is much bigger than one or two people. Its when EVERYONE sells just for panic's sake, not because one , two, or a hundred people take profits
