I hate mergers and buyouts

So I work for National City Bank(corp in Cleveland) Well I just found out that because of all the unwise mortgage lending practices, they have sold out to PNC bank in Pittsburgh.

While I was at the office, someone heard on CNN, that within 4 months, they are moving all of our jobs to Pittsburgh, and if we want a job, we have to go also. Well thats all fine and good, but my Wife has an awesome with Nestle Corp. here so that is not really a possibility. So I finally have a job where I love the people, the Management staff, etc etc, and now the carpet just gets pulled out from underneath me(us).

While I understand the transaction, this really kills us, as the market here in Cleveland is not exactly a booming economic metropolis...............

If somehow I could find a job, that pays very well for sitting at home and watching sports and playing video games all day, things would be ok( if anyone knows of a job like this, send me a pm)

That sucks...I'm sure a lot of others are or will be going through the same thing in the future with the current state of the economy.

Hopefully you'll get a nice little severance package to help you out while your search for a new job...if you can try and stick it out as long as possible. Often times those that help with the transition and stay the longest are rewarded the most in these situations.

That sucks...I'm sure a lot of others are or will be going through the same thing in the future with the current state of the economy.

Yeah I guess it sounds like im whining, as I know a lot of other people are going through much worse than my Wife and I right now. The severance from what I understand is either 3 or 4 months salary...all rumor right now.

Sorry to hear about the possible job moving. Its a tough economy and so many execs are trying to cover their butt that it trickles down and swamps those in the trenches.
