Winter's in Florida don't look at the temperature because it isn't the same cold. Even when you factor the wind chill in, it just isn't the same like it is in the north. 30 in Florida feels a lot colder than 40 up north. Florida has a lot of moisture in the air so when the wind hits you with that moisture, it is freezing. It obviously doesn't get as cold, but the temps don't feel the same.
So what's the weather like where you live?

Ok, I dont even want to hear it. Syracuse has been in the 20s, Winds of 10-15MPH, 40+ Inches of snow in like 3 days, and its not going to stop.
Another 6-12 tonight, couples days off then a Noreaster on Sunday.
EAT IT! It does suck though, waking up at 5AM with a foot of snow on your car with the roads completely untouched from plowes. My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Just for a reference:
Blizzard of 1966: 42.9'' of snow
Blizzard of 1993: 42''
Blizzard of 2010(Yes, I am declaring this a blizzard): Officially it is 37'' but I have 45'' in a western suburb of Syracuse.

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?
Lol, I know exactly what you mean. Last Friday I was outside doing yard work and it was about 50° and I was out there in shorts and a t-shirt and I was still hot. Like you said, I think it's just because you get used to a certain temperature. Kind of like during the summer when it's 100°, if you have a night where it gets into the 40°s it tends to feel really cold.
I can't tell you how many times I've gone to California to visit family during fall/winter and been wearing shorts while everyone else is freezing. Like when I went out to my cousin's wedding back in June. It was in Santa Cruz and we had to get there about 7am to help set some things up. All of her friends who were there to help were freezing, but I was wearing shorts and short sleeves and had no problems at all. Everyone was all, "aren't you cold?" I just laughed every time someone asked me that.

Tampa, FL got a coating of snow in 1977, the only other year (besides last year) that Miami-Dade has seen snow.Comment

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?
It's freaking warm right now, 32 degrees, it's actually sleeting right now. But then a cold front is supposed to move through and drop the temps to -20 for lows and highs around 1, 0, -1 along with snow.Huskers | Chelsea FC | Minnesota United | OmahaComment
