So what's the weather like where you live?

Bitter, bitter cold. Wind chills hit close to -40 last night. Typical January. It has now snowed everyday for 21 days straight, not constantly but everyday for the past 3 weeks there has been at least little snow each day.

I forgot what the sun looks like.

Sometimes I wonder what the sun looks like then summer rolls around and I wonder if the sun ever goes away.

Just watched the news and apparently it is going to be another massive snow storm sweeping across the midwest and up through New England. Suppose to make to New England by the weekend.........

I am so sick of snow right about now.....Starting to become an every weekend thing.

That would be pretty boring weather to me. I need some excitement from my weather!

Looks like coastal sections of North Carolina and South Carolina will be getting some snow this weekend. It will probably be too far east to hit Raleigh, though, unfortunately. It will be odd watching Cape Hatteras, Wilmington, and Myrtle Beach get poured on with snow while Raleigh gets flurries (at best), but that's just the way these things go sometimes. It almost makes me want to make a trip to the beach, though!

No, the coastal storm won't get anyone outside of the coastal Carolinas. And that's not necessarily a lock as there's a lot of moving parts to sort out and the precip cutoff is sharp. Places from Charleston, SC northward to maybe south of Greenville, NC could see significant snowfall out of this as well as the southern outer banks of NC. But once you get inland 25 miles or so, it sharply cuts off. A westward trend could commence, but it would take a pretty big shift to give even Raleigh anything at this point.

Basically, this is the area we are talking about.



The closer to the coast you are, the more snow you'll likely get. The most snow will probably be found on the Outer Banks (maybe near Cape Lookout).

It's a tight rope to walk, though, as a 50 mile eastward shift would take everyone out of the game except for maybe some token flurries.

In other news, there's a potential snow/sleet/ice storm on its way early next week (Monday/Tuesday timeframe) for the Southeast.

It's crappy as heck outside. We had a light dusting this morning before coming to work. Try to leave for lunch and it's like 3-4 inches out

The thing I don't get is that there were all kinds of winter weather warnings and forecasts for possible snow accumulation, yet not one salt truck was out this morning in preparation. What gives?
