How can you guys in the US be having the "storm of the century" when our media in Australia is saying we are having the "storm of the century" as well?

The cyclone that is approaching our coast ihas just strengthened to a category 5 (the highest there is) with winds of over 320km per hour (200 miles per hour) and they are predicting over 700ml of rain so flooding will be everywhere.

They just had the head of the state say it is the biggest cyclone that has ever hit Australia. Scary stuff man!!!

NOT supposed to be this cold in Texas! I'm a little south of Fort Worth. Supposed to be 10* in the morning. Only good thing is class could be cancelled Tue-Thur.

Couple of inches of snow this morning with ice, roads sucked this morning, weren't that bad later in the day though.

The big storm is supposed to come tomorrow though. Sounds like where I live they are saying freezing rain that will change to rain pretty quickly. But I'm supposed to go to the uconn game tomorrow and they are saying 8-12 inches and snow all day around Hartford

We could have a really historic deep south snowstorm later this week, so that is something to watch in addition to the current SNOWMAGEDDON (or whatever they're calling it now). Brownsville, TX could get accumulating snowfall, which has happened exactly once in the last 115 years and the only time it did snow was in the early morning hours of Christmas in 2004. I guess if you're going to get that once in a hundred years snowfall, you might as well turn it into a White Christmas!

Wow, couldn't put my wife's car in the garage because of the snow accumulating in front of it. The car just rocked back n forth.

Had to shovel in front of the car to get the car in the garage. I'll go around 11:00pm or so and clear off the driveway. Don't want it to accumulate over night and wake up in the morning with twice as much snow to dig through.

Helps to have a snow blower in the midwest.

Horizontal snow coming down...er, right to left now. Fun!

Yeah thats all I've been seeing since about 3 p.m. The drive home was terrible though, not because of the roads, but because visibility was almost zero. I could only make out the car in front of me.

So far nothing has been really sticking, the snow is just going all over the place in the air. It's really windy outside.

Nothing but snow and ice in the big apple... but honestly hope this doesn't stop since I haven't been to school since the 23rd of January :P well I went today but left after I got my new schedule which was around 9am
