A hell of a storm just moved through. A Lowes' Home Improvement store in Sanford, NC was literally just leveled, it appears on video.

Wind blowing so hard out here, it knocked a tree down and the power pole caught fire and the power was off for an hour. And the storm itself didn't even make it here yet, that suppose to come around midnight.

Rainy, overcast, and bitterly cold. It feels like the middle of autumn to be honest with you.

Yes. Here is another picture of it. I don't know how no one died in that Lowes'.

Preliminary reports sound like there were at least 10 fatalities in NC today, maybe more.

WRAL has some amazing photos and video of the damage.

That is crazy. In Georgia it was a great day, after we had some hail and winds, but nothing major last night.

Where did that line of storms come from? Was it left over from the front that headed up north?

It's amazing how little coverage this got from the national media. Absolutely pathetic. Tens of people were killed across the Southeast, yet barely a peep, yet if some weak *** tropical storm was hitting FL, there'd be wall-to-wall coverage.

I think the death toll is up to 22 in North Carolina alone thus far. If this has happened 50 years ago, hundreds of people would have been killed, in all likelihood.
