On the note of thunderstorms, there have been 2 this week! It's rare enough seeing 1 lengthy one in a year, but 2 in a week is crazy.

Now this weekend is raining heavily too. More rain these past few days than probably all of May and June combined.

Its badly needed. Can't stand looking at a dried out lawn which hasn't needed mowing in over a month.

Even some of my neighbors who do take good care of their lawn, theirs look so bad as well. Some parts they water, but eventually even they gave up doing all that to keep it green

The "percentage" of rain in a forecast isn't quite the chance that it'll rain or not rain.

It's, basically the likelihood that an area within the forecast area will get any rain.

Yep, and if you want to really know what the meteorologists are thinking, check weather.gov and the forecast discussions for your immediate area. Weather prediction is actually rather accurate if you go beyond the dumbed down quick forecast.

When I got done with my mountain bike ride yesterday morning at 9 it was 84 with a heat index of 97.

More of the same today.

The temp today is 93 but it feels like 105. UV Index 10 of 10.

Was 108° yesterday and as of now sitting at 104°, this heat is unbearable.

Today is the first time I actually saw the weather report say 0% chance of rain!

They always have the lowest at 10 or 20%. 0% is unheard of.

I know I shouldn't believe them, but report tomorrow says another thunderstorm.

They're also saying it will feel like 45C which is over 110F!


Edit- Turns out they were right. Major thunderstorm. Tornado warnings in some placed.

3 thunderstorms, 2 major ones, in the same month. This really is rare.
