wow, I didn't think it ever snowed in Houston

It snowed last year in Houston in December, as well (though it was a lesser amount of snow). It also snowed in New Orleans in the same storm and some places in southern Mississippi picked up over 6" of snow. Baton Rouge, LA saw 3" of snow.

But by and large, Houston rarely gets snowfall. It's very strange for Houston to see snowfall like this two years in a row.

What's weird is that Houston and Galveston have seen their first snowfall this year earlier than places like Boston, Portland, and southern Vermont!

It's december and we have 60 degree weather here in Rhode Island. Not your typical New England weather during Christmas time.

Yeah, we got a little bit last year, just enough to stick around for a few hours in certain places. I think you have to go back 10 or so years before that for the last snow.

Today was cool though, we got about 2 inches in my town. They sent everyone home early from work and I got to go play in the snow with my 2 and half year old who had the time of her life building a snow man and throwing snow balls. Got some good pictures out of it if nothing else.

LUCKY! I'm in Indiana and it has yet to really even snow. We have seen flurries but it's just cold. I want snow. lol

Currently 21 degrees and it snowed a bit yesterday. Nothing stuck but the flakes were coming down hard for a little while and they were big.

We were supposed to get some of that tonight. It all stayed north of here, however. Just rain, which of course is now turning to ice on the roads. Great fun.
