So ready for spring I hate winter and fall. The only thing I like about winter is Christmas but this year I didn't even enjoy that because of the fact I got laid off work yesterday.

We so far are having a really cold/wet fall and winter. November we where basically 10 below ever day and around the same thing in December. I think we have only had about 5-6 days at average or above average temps in the last 2 months. The last 2 months have felt like Jan. Pooring rain right now and windy lost power for about a hour last night.

We've had floods where I didn't think flooding was even possible, including stretches of our freeway where nary a lake or river is to be found.

So much rain in California. In my area we've had more rain in the first 10 days this year than we had for the first 10-11 months last year. No exaggeration.

But of course it's not enough. They've basically said that our reservoirs can't hold enough to make up for how short we are from the past 5-10+ years or so. So it could rain an infinite amount and it wouldn't matter. It's the ultimate "wallow in doom and gloom indefinitely regardless of what happens" life narrative lol. Really makes you want to go out there and enact change and try to make a difference.

The state's population outgrew its resources, and very poor resource management has exacerbated the problem. I'm going to stop myself now out of respect for the (appropriate) 'no politics' gentleman's agreement/rules here, but I don't think it's controversial to say that California is a mess and governance of the state has not been adequate in generations.

First snowstorm of the season supposed to be happening on Wednesday.

Better now than a few weeks or months ago I guess.

Thankfully it won't be as bad as the one from last year. Literally couldn't even get outside because the door was almost stuck due to the amount of snow blocking it from opening.

Here's something I've never seen before.

A snowstorm and there's Thunder and lightning too!

I always wondered if that's even possible. I guess I got my answer.

More crazy weather up till about 4 days ago we had basically been 5-15 degrease below average ever day sense November. Now all of a sudden today we where about 12 above average 64 average this time of the year is 52. Tomorrow is supposed to be about 64 again but than by sunday we may get snow. So like around a 30 degree drop in like 3 days.

To top it off, that's basically my car right now.

Frozen solid to the point I basically had to leave it in the parking lot coming home from work. Luckily got a ride home, but hopefully it thaws out. Could be the engine or worse. Now gotta spend all Saturday dealing with that and possibly spending the day at the garage if they have to tow it by tomorrow.

So after having exteme cold the prior week, last week was decent.

Now this week is above freezing temps, feeling like early March weather. It helps when a day like today is above average and no clouds in the sky.

If winters are like how this one has been, I don't mind that at all. Unless we're gonna suddenly be in for some final storm at the end of winter which ruins March.

Based on projections for the next week or two, I might have jinxed it.

Keeps getting more crazy. So average for winter is about 52 where I live and we get snow ever year but 99% of the time we get snow it either don't stick or we get like 1-4 inches. Back in 2021 in December we had like a once ever 15 year type of storm. We got like 16 inches of snow including like a foot just in like 7-8 hours from when I went to bed to when I got up. Now we might be having something like that again meaning 2 storms in like 14 months that we almost never get. Supposed to get like 2 feet of snow between Wednesday-Friday with Thursday being the most. Also today and yesterday was 64 lol.

yeah, the snow and ice combination of over a foot is scary

last week we had a little storm of like 3-5" and it ended up being hard to deal with because of the ice

now we're looking at 9-15" of the same thing, I get why people are stocking up, and more coming next week, oi
