Snow flurries reported by trained spotters in Kendall and Oakland Park (near Miami) marks the first time these places have reported snow since 1977 and the second time since at least 1900. Truly a historic event.

.UPDATE...LICENSE PLATES AND PALM TREES WERE THE ONLY REASONS I
KNEW I WAS IN FLORIDA WHEN DRIVING INTO WORK THIS MORNING! A
STIFF AND GUSTY NORTHWEST WIND MADE IT FEEL LIKE IT WAS IN THE 20S
ALL ACROSS SOUTH FLORIDA. THERE HAS BEEN EVEN STEAM FOG OVER THE
ATLANTIC OCEAN (DUE TO THE LARGE DIFFERENCE IN AIR-SEA TEMPS).

LOWS THIS MORNING WERE MOSTLY IN THE LOWER 30S AREA WIDE...THOUGH
SOME UPPER 20S WERE REPORTED IN GLADES COUNTY (MESONET AT MOORE
HAVEN REACHED 27F). HERE ARE THE LOWS FOR THE MAJOR REPORTING
STATIONS THIS MORNING:

NAPLES...35
WEST PALM BEACH...32
FORT LAUDERDALE...34
MIAMI...35 (TIED RECORD SET IN 1970)

DESPITE ABOVE FREEZING TEMPS OFFICIALLY AT FLL/MIA...NUMEROUS
MESONET SENSORS ACROSS THE METRO AREA...EVEN TO THE IMMEDIATE
COAST...REGISTERED TEMPS OF FREEZING/32F INCLUDING NORTHERN
SECTIONS OF MIAMI BEACH. SO THIS WAS THE COLDEST MORNING ACROSS
MUCH OF THE EAST COAST SINCE THE 1989 COLD AIR OUTBREAK. THE 1989
OUTBREAK WAS SOME 3-5 DEGREES LOWER.

ALONG THE GULF COAST...THE LOWEST TEMP I COULD FIND WAS 33F AT
MARCO ISLAND.

when I woke up this morning it was a -5 degrees outside with a wind chill of -25. Only made it to 6 degrees today. Currently it is probably below 0 again. Oh well I am use to it.

Up here today you still seen women walking around with blue jean skirts on with some knee high boots and a harley tank top LOL.

Key West, FL got down to 42 degrees last night. The lowest temperature ever recorded at Key West (in over 125 years of observations) was 41 degrees, which was set in 1886 and 1981. Oh so close...

Whatever the case, Key West blew away the record low for the day, which was 48 and recorded their fifth-straight day in which temperatures fell below 50 degrees, which one short of the record.

Brooksville, FL got down to 15 last night. Wow.

It was 14 here this morning. Looks like some snow flurries may roll through tonight.

Cold, but not as cold. For a few weeks, it was about 12-14 during the day. It's 28 degrees today, and the office is dealing much better with this temperature.

Wow, it's 41 degrees right now in Havana, Cuba! Amazing!

Cancun is sitting at 57 degrees. I bet those on vacation down there aren't too pleased with that. So much for tropical weather!
