I can't stand some dudes who walk around like their crap doesn't stink. 9 times out of 10 it's some little punk trying to compensate. Relax bro, you'll get there someday.

There are many things which affect others in the gym. Haven't gotten to those yet...will do...too much ACC basketball on right now to comment.

I'm trying to just guide people in the right directions.

I have a couple minutes I'll add a couple more to the OP.

Plus, if all these little quirks bug you so much...don't go to a gym! Buy an elliptical machine, get some weights and a bench, or pony up the dosh for a Bowflex or something.

Heck, I do some jogging, lift some weights at home, and while I'm a big guy, my health numbers are all A-OK in the normal range. You meat heads are just a source of comic amusement, LOL.

I'm just informing people how to conduct themselves at the gym. Truth is many people don't know how. Also I can't help but notice the people around me when I'm in between sets. I'm not going to stare at the floor my entire duration in the gym.

I like my gym's equipment and have no room to have my own gym. In the future I'm going to build one though. However I'm 23 and with my $12/month membership there's no way I'm changing now.

I'd much rather lift on my own place to lift, but I don't have an option.

Also I'm not a meat head.

You drink the entire gallon when you work out? That's like 8 pounds of water! What are you on haha?

I do agree with the losing your machine though. I like to super set my exercises and quite often I'll have to find an alternate machine because somebody will swoop in, take my machine, not let me work in, and then text for 3 minutes in between sets.

I always let people work in.
I rarely have people let me work in.
However I'll always let people work in because that's proper etiquette.

                According to your standards.

Like I said earlier - why should you care if someone wants to carry a jug around, has tight clothing, or happens to want to text on his phone between reps, or whatever. Those things have absolutely no effect on you, and aren't being disruptive in the least.

At least make a list of things that actually matter and are disruptive to the workout of others around them. The things you listed are pretty much completely harmless.

There are several things which are vital and some things which are just a heads up on how to conduct yourself.

Texting does have an effect on others. It makes people waste time. The gym is not a place to "hang out". It's a place to get in better shape.

I've wanted to use DBs before and had a person chilling with them while texting and looking around to see if people were looking at him texting. Yea, I was, use the DBs or give them to me. Happens once a week at least.

Your at the gym to workout, not for social hour. Don't chew off some random guys' ear (this is mostly old dudes who do this though) and focus on your workout.

I hate when some guy starts talking to me, even though I have headphones on, and just won't stop. Sports, the weather, the kind of iPod of I have, etc. The questions don't stop with some dudes. Start following me around like a damn puppy dog, just let me do my thing.

I do chew gum when I workout at the gym. Reason being, it keeps my mouth from getting dried out quickly. That's the only extension of anything that's in my mouth besides water to drink. Our YMCA has TV's on the elliptical machines and treadmills.

Not cleaning off the treadmill annoys the crap out of me. Last time I went to the gym, this dude left so much sweat on the treadmill. I told him to clean it up.

Same here, I'm always chewing gum during every physical activity cept for swimming, which is pretty obvious why I don't do it there.

Exactly I get the feeling some people sticking their nose in this thread don't even go to the gym.

Chewing gum is 100% fine! It's not a Snickers bar haha

                              This chick knows the deal:

                              #1 and #2 I missed, can't believe it haha.

If you see somebody struggling, go help. Spotting somebody who doesn't need it is very insulting.

People who take way too long in between sets and overtrain their muscles. Trust me I see these people daily. I come in while they are working out, I do my 45 minute lift, they are still "lifting".
