Not at my school's gym, ton's of hot girls lifting weights, at least with the machines, not many doing free weights.

Of course most of them have no idea what they are doing and are never going to get any stronger, so that's kind of annoying that they make it more crowded, but its better than having less hot girls at uconn.

Those are the same males that have no idea what a leg workout is. They can bench 315 for a 6 and curl 100lbs, but can't squat their way out of a wet paper bag. I refer to those types as light bulbs.

        Re: Proper Gym Etiquette

Speaking of locker room nonsense, I had a pretty funny experience the other week.

I walk into the locker room and there's this short dude standing in front of the mirror butt-naked blow drying himself. Not just his hair or his nuts, his entire body head-to-toe. He had just gotten out of the shower and I don't know if he forgot a towel or doesn't like a rough towel on his skin or what, lol.

So anyway, I was swimming that day so I did my usual 50 laps which takes about 40-50 minutes (yeah, I'm slow and stop a lot) and hopped in the shower, went back into the locker room and this dude was still there blow drying himself. Just admiring himself in the mirror and putting that blow dryer to good use. The gym shoulda sent him a portion of the electric bill that month.

Haha, I truly am surprised by how little shame some people have.

            Sounds bad.

            I got a story...
Well, my school has this old man who used to coach football for a number of years and was the athletic director. Now he still has an office and all, I'm not really sure what he does though. His name is Charlie Brown (I didn't have to say it, but I thought it was pretty funny.)

Well, the other day I was just leaving after practice and I went into the coaches office/locker room thing and I saw a bad sight. Apparently they have showers in their, and sure enough ole Charlie Brown was in their taking a shower. I didn't look long, but the nakedness wasn't what left me scarred. It was the fact that he had a tattoo on his ***. The guy must be in his mid 80's, I was shocked. It was kind of gross, too, but I figured you guys already knew that.

If I'm not going anywhere after (work, out someplace) I see no need to take a shower at the gym. I'll just change into dry clothes so I won't get sick and shower in a much cleaner place.

Man, in my old gym there was a little area that had a TV and 2 lounge chairs. There used to be old men in there butt a** naked having conversations with their feet propped up like it was nothing. No towel or anything seperating their bare cheeks from the chair.

                    11. Mirror Etiquette. Never, ever get in front of another man's mirror, especially when you can move, he is stationary, and he is 3X the size of you.

The gym I went to for the last 5-6 years recently closed...

The only other option close by, is a gym inside a community center...

The equipment (esp. the cardio stuff) is waaaay better, but because it's also much less expensive and inside a multi use facility, it attracts a much larger, much more "casual" clientele...

It's also January, so I'm sure a number of these folks will peter out on their New Years resolution to get in shape, etc...

                          Worst part:

Quite a few male senior citizens seem to only be there to mack around the locker room in nothing but shower sandals, yaking it up...

Disturbing on a "Curb Your Enthusiasm" level...

Still, much better than this gym I joined (years ago) in the basement of a Knights of Columbus hall...

Those seniors would litterally sit on the cardio stuff watching "The Price Is Right" on a 20" B&W TV (with requisite tin foil on the antenna to "improve" reception) while I was on the eliptical...

                          No...I am not kidding...

LOL, well I thought most of its attempts to be funny were dumb, but I thought it mostly made good points.

Except that it was directed towards the New Years Resolution people, who are often the worst culprits of a lot of this stuff.
