They allegedly taunted, spat on, groped residents with dementia disorders


LBERT LEA, Minn. - Two teenage girls who worked at a nursing home have been charged with abuse, accused of taunting, spitting on and groping the breasts and genitals of residents who suffered from Alzheimer's disease and other dementia disorders.According to the criminal complaint, filed Monday, 19-year-old Brianna Broitzman and 18-year-old Ashton Larson laughed earlier this year as they spat in residents' mouths, poked and grabbed them, and at times mocked them until they screamed.

Nothing more than what's been wrong with every single generation that ever existed. Nursing Home Resident abuse has been happening ever since there have been such things. Hell, they used to strap residents down because they wandered a bit or had bad memories. They'd speak abusively to them, hit them, and tie them down and leave them in rooms alone.

There's nothing more wrong with this generation than any other generation that's existed. Humans have always done really, really stupid things; and we'll continue to so long as we exist.

I was reading Anna Karenina a while back, and there's a passage in there about the declining morals, sexual promiscuity, and lack of respect for marriage. For those that don't know, this book was written in the late 1800s.

That's true.

However, the generation in nursing homes is the generation of Nazism, communism, Jim Crow, lynchings, and oppressing women.

Come to think of it, our morals are going up dramatically as a country. Anyone who can't see this is thinking too narrowly.

I was reading Anna Karenina a while back, and there's a passage in there about the declining morals, sexual promiscuity, and lack of respect for marriage. For those that don't know, this book was written in the late 1800s.

And there are examples that go back much further than that.

You don't have to respect ALL their ideas.

I agree with those who say there's a lack of respect and common decency for their fellow man in a lot of people. I'm not one of those people that blame the internet for all these problems but it does seem to be more then a coincidence that the rise in this kind of behavior has coincided with the rise and popularity of the internet.

I mean 50 years ago you wouldn't see teens video taping themselves beating the snot out of another teen and showing everyone the way those teens in I think, Florida did a year or so ago. I also read some blog stuff after Jays owner Ted Rogers died. Let me tell you, there were people who were cussing him out and saying he should die again for all they care and the man hadn't been dead for more then 12 hours!

I dunno, I just think people have gone a mental over the last 10-15 years.

The sarcasm is just dripping with that post eh?

I never said the internet was the sole cause of this so let's not put words into my mouth. As to your examples, you're right they're far more egregious but they were the results of social and institutional ignorance. What's happening today is borne out of chaos. What's happening today is not just ignorance but in a lot of cases plain stupidity, lack of a proper upbringing and a degradation of morals in the overall scheme of things.
