It used to be, like back in the 80's, before the chain fell on hard times and was subsequently bought out by a private equity firm. Fast food in the 1980's was so much better, I'm not even joking or being nostalgic here. The Whopper was a big burger, the onion rings at BK were really actual onions (not a weird slurry of onion-like paste), you could get a Veal Parmesan sandwich at Burger King (can you imagine that nowadays LOL?), the pies at McD's were deep-fried....those were the days, man.

And Big Macs are puny now compared to what they were in the 80s. I mean, they're noticeably smaller.

Wow, most people - even people that hate McDonalds - usually admit they at least like the fries. For as much as I love In-N-Out, I honestly hate their fries. If I could get an In-N-Out double-hamburger (not a double-double...for whatever reason, that much cheese just drowns out the meat taste for me) with McD's fries, that would be like my ideal fast food meal.

Not at all. I once drove half-an-hour out of my way to get Arby's. And then when I got there, I got like 2 things and that was it. I felt like a total loser. And I was correct in my feelings...

That arbys must just be fire lol. I always try to go to the mall or something else. Because when somebody asks me what we're you doing out there? I don't wanna just reply. I drove 45 minutes for Popeyes. Lol

McD's fries are just too thin. They're alright if your just using them as a vehicle for catsup delivery. I prefer THICK fries like Jack's or Milo's.

The only time I ever attempt going to McDonalds is in the morning when I crave a McGriddle. Those two little pancakes used as the roll get me every time.

I do miss McDonald's fried pies though. Doesn't KFC still have those, or some place? The only reason i ask is i went to some fried chicken place just to get one. That would be the only reason for me to go into a fried chicken place. (I get sweet tea from chicken Express, and i have gotten a pulled pork sandwich from Bojangles, for full disclosure)

If KFC has fried pies, I'm not aware of it. I'd probably be eating one right now if they did, though...

I haven't actually had Bojangles but I've heard good things. I gotta give that a shot next time I'm in Bojangles territory.

On that note, I wonder what the best 'regional' fast food chain is? I mean, that's obviously hard to determine since most people never get to eat at most of them by virtue of them being...well, regional and all, but many of us have lived in different parts of the country and traveled throughout. When I was in North Carolina a few years back, they had a chain called "Cookout" which I actually found to be quite good. Of course, it was late at night and we were hammered, but nevertheless, I remember it hitting the spot. Obviously In-N-Out is something everyone knows about, but it is quite good. Like I said, I've heard good things about Bojangles but never had the occasion.

McDonald's fries are great....if you eat them within 30 seconds of them coming out of the fryer.

I've come back to eating McDonald's regularly after not eating them for a very, very long time. Hard to beat the price and effectiveness of two Bacon McDoubles plain and lettuce wrapped with a large diet Dr. Pepper. Honestly them having Diet Dr. Pepper is what turned me back on to McDonald's. And the app. Killer on the deals.

They have omitted bacon from my bacon McDoubles like 5 times in the last 3 months, however. How that happens, who the hell knows. I understand I'm ordering a specific way for a specific reason, but really, bacon is in the ****ing name.

The only thing I eat from McDonald's is the filet O fish. So I'm happy this deal is back.

                          And fries, of course.

That's one thing i have always purposely avoided at McDonald's. It just don't seem right lol. Maybe i need to try it next time. If people didn't like them it would have been gone long ago i suppose.
