Re: Anyone Hate That There Is Money...
Comrade, YOU'RE ALIVE!!!!
Seriously, I don't hate the concept of money but I hate what money does to people. Just look at the decades of the 1920s, 1980s and 1990s. Greed and green is the God of those with tons of it.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Anyone Hate That There Is Money...
I thought about that when I posted it. I was waiting on someone to bring that up.
It's not that I hate that there is money. Bad choice of words I guess. I just wish that it wouldn't be such a limiting factor in one's life.
I'm a victim of what money has turned this world into. So to be able to do what I would like to do in life, I'd like to make money. It's not because I want to have wealth. It's just that I want to be able to do things I enjoy, and I wish I didn't have to count on money to do them.victim? really?
So... what do you want to 'count on' to do them? the 'charity' of others?Originally posted by Alexis de TocquevilleThe America Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.Comment

Re: Anyone Hate That There Is Money...
To answer the OP's question: emphatically no.
Without money people wouldn't work and wouldn't provide the services that we want to spend money on (ie: who's going to work the machines that build the HDTV I want to buy? Who's going to work the machines to build a car? Who's going to produce the clothes I wear?). I know I'm not the only one, but I sure as heck would not be working if I did not have to live in my house, pay for my car, pay the utilities, buy tech toys etc...Comment

Re: Anyone Hate That There Is Money...
From what I am taking from this thread is this dude wants a get rich quick scheme or some other way to get something for nothing. He wants to be able to do all these things and have all these things without money. So want I want to know is, what does this guy bring to the table? Or is it just some sense of entitlement? I don't get it, even if there was no money and even if you lived in a commune you still have to provide something of value to the society you live in.
Gotta bring something to the table to separate yourself from everyone else to bring in the big money. IMO, I've worked way too hard in my life to have someone (and I say this in a general sense) who hasn't worked as hard have the same things that I have. All the 60-70 hour work weeks that I put in at the office and am still putting in have paid off and are still paying off. Hell, I went to the office Thanksgiving morning for a few hours to take care of a problem. I sure didn't want to, but I knew it looked great and made sure those in charge (IT DIR and CIO) knew I was there. When raises/promotions/bonuses roll around, that won't be forgotten.Comment

Re: Anyone Hate That There Is Money...
Ok...So I understand WHY money is in place. It is an effective means for the exchange of goods and services. I get that.
But what I'm also getting at is that it's sad that people are not willing to do anything for anyone else without the need of having to get something in return.
Not only that, but money is the root of a lot problems that we have today. I don't see how anyone can dispute that.
People kill, steal, hurt, and completely forget about any morals or ethics they have because of money. People also can't get the help they need because of money. And money still remains a limiting factor in the development of certain medicines and research. It is also still a fact that millions of dollars will be spent by some, when it can also be put to some good.
I'm not arguing that other means would be more effective. I'm saying that it sucks that things are the way that they are.Comment

You still don't understand the concept of money. Without money, people would still kill, steal, hurt over beef or carrots or shiney stones whatever it is they wanted. Thats human nature, thats not money.
But anyway, So what are you doing every day to help mankind? What charities do you put hard work in for out of the kindness of your heart. What work do you do for free? Lead by example.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

But it's not because of money. People's ethics would be lacking anyway. If there was no money and people relied on, lets just say bartering. People would still kill and hurt because on person bartered better than they did. It's the fault of humans, not the monatary system. My latest project - Madden 12 http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2043231648Comment

In your "evil millionaire buying a plane" example, did you ever stop and think that planes don't just appear out of nowhere? People design them, others get the raw materials needed to build them, other people build them, other people do material engineering, people sell the fuel, chemists work on the fuel, others produce the fuel, people work at the airports, and other people sell the planes, and that's without the interest groups involved with planes. Now those millions on the plane not only aren't going to cancer research, but you've now just put thousands of people around the world out of jobs for the sake of fairness.Comment

Dude, it boils down to you have some strange sense of entitlement. You seem like you would be prime pickens for a cult.
You still don't understand the concept of money. Without money, people would still kill, steal, hurt over beef or carrots or shiney stones whatever it is they wanted. Thats human nature, thats not money.
Why can't I just be a swell guy? A really nice guy at heart that wishes everybody could be happy and enjoy life.
Let me reiterate that I just wish people in general weren't the way they are now. That's my underlying point.Comment
