I'm pretty comfortable with flying but I do get a little irked when there's some turbulence and the plane is shaking a bit. My most frightening plane trip however came when I flew to Suriname. First of all, the plane was pretty run down. You could actually feel some cool air blowing as the plane was in the air! Anyways as we were landing it was a typical tropical rain storm and the planes wings were PHYSICALLY shaking! I was pretty freaked out and hoping the plane could land in one piece.

Extremely comfortable. Never had a scare, had some turbulence and what not, but nothing serious. I've been on extremely long flights, too. 16 hour flights overseas, are fun. Not, so boring, but always felt safe.

I am actually more comfortable flying across the country than driving. I've flown so many times, that it doesn't even faze me.

Same. I hate getting into a car when I'm not driving. I'd fly anywhere just to get rid of the driving time.

I'm nervous before I get on the plane...but I would much rather take a 2 hour plane ride somewhere than a 6+ hour car ride.

I have never, EVER had a problem with JetBlue. I love that airline. If I had any complaint it would be the lack of space per chair... but the actual flights have always been fantastic for me.

Being a Boeing employee, I will say A320's blow! Of course Boeing's 757's aren't any roomier.

The worst I had been on was about 5 years ago from Atlanta to Cincy on an MD-80. Duck tape was holding together the overhead panels over three or four rows (including directly above my head). I've never been on a plane that rattled so much in my life. It felt like it was going to split apart in mid air.

Is there anyway to find out what model airline you will be flying in before hand? Maybe when you do online check-in?

To answer the question of this thread. Yes I am!

Living in the middle of the Pacific, you get used to flying 5-6 hours non-stop. My best bet is do some little research on the airline you are going to fly.

There was a new startup airline in Hawaii that started interisland service. I am not sure if a lot of you know about Mesa, but they started a airline called go! airlines to serve interisland service for a couple of years now. I forgot when this happened, but it was a routine flight from Honolulu to Hilo. What happened was the pilots of course turned on the autopilot and both of them decided to take a short nap. What happened next is they overshot Hilo by so many miles while the FAA control tower was freaking out! I believe they were about to deploy the national guard F-16's to intercept it. Luckily, the pilots woke up, turn the plane around and landed at Hilo. Those two pilots I think got fired.

So my advice is if you fly to Hawaii and decide to go to the neighbor islands, don't fly go!, fly on Hawaiian or Mokuele!

Well, if you're flying Jet Blue as you said you like too, then you'll either be flying an A-320 or an Embraer-190 (Embraer is Brazilian). My dad now flies the Embraer-190 after previously flying a Boeing 757.

I am OK with it, but it is not my favorite thing to do. I just feel like I have no control up there and that is some times scary. Also, you are so high in the sky.

I always book mine online and usually the model is listed for each flight (when you click on the flight #). A-320's and 757's are the worst for longer flights since you're crammed in there.

Flying is statistically 17 times safer than driving, so, yes, I feel quite safe. The only issue is that when you crash while flying, you're almost always killed whereas when you drive, that's not particularly the case.

Still, just think how many thousands of people die in car wrecks each year. Between 1998 and 2007, an average of 36 plane crashes occurred in the United States per year with a vast majority of those being personal planes with just a few people and not airliners with hundreds of people.

Now, if you're going overseas, then watch out. The US has the best commercial airline system in the world, but if you go fly on Iran Air or something, you're looking for trouble. You hear about foreign planes crashing all the time.

I like flying and seeing Gods creation from an airplane.

I figure if I go down in a plane crash, it's just my time to go.

Besides, how else would you rather die that's painless... You're more than likely going to explode upon impact. Better than dying in a hospital and suffering from some drawn out sickness.

You guys don't know "nervous flying" until you fly from Amsterdam to Armenia on "Armavia", which is an airline made up of old Soviet jets.
