Re: LET IT SNOW~
I just got back from my parents (NE Iowa) for a early Christmas and they got over 1 foot between today and yesterday, with more on the way. We've (SE Iowa) gotten probably 6 inches since early this week.GT: Herkyalert

Re: LET IT SNOW~
You want everything!?
My wife and I have our 3 1/2 y.o. grandson staying with us until Christmas. My driveway is 400 feet and winds a little with a pretty steep incline(all but one of my vehicles is 4WD...so no problem)...so I plowed it and left about two inches of snow on it. It packed pretty smooth and I got out the plastic sled for his first run ever.
I figured I better give it a test so I got a 40 pound bag of sand...put it in the sled and let it rip.
WOW....it's a good thing I tested it....that thing had to get close to 35-40 going down the incline!!!
My wife was at church at the time....man if she would have come home to a banged up kid I wouldn't be able to type anything for a while
Anyway...I tied about 100 feet of a good nylon rope on the end of the sled.....and didn't let him gain too much speed.(he didn't want me to go with him...he said he's not a baby)
It was awesome for him....I can still hear him laughing and screaming in my head.
Good times.

Re: LET IT SNOW~
I love snow - but it canceled the hockey game I was supposed to play in tomorrow. I was pissed off about that.
We don't have to do any shoveling at all, so that's one nice thing about living in a townhouse.Comment

I am from Detroit, born and raised but I have to tell you that if I have to, moving out west or down south would be just fine. It was -3 here today with the windchill!Comment

Re: LET IT SNOW~
I had a fun time yesterday making a 5 hour trip into a 10 hour one... Visibility was so bad with the blowing snow that I could not see more than two car lengths around me. Lucky that there were no accidents!
Snow is great unless if you are a driver.Comment

Re: LET IT SNOW~
It seems like much of the world is experiencing below average temperatures. Beijing just experienced their coldest December day in 57 years. The forecast for Europe is calling for temperatures 6-10 degrees below average this winter, ect.
We still have only had one measurable snowfall here in High Point, NC and that snowfall was only a half an inch. The high temperature is supposed to be sub-freezing today, though, which is a rarity in the Piedmont area. We've been getting the cold, but we haven't got the moisture at the appropriate time!
This guy seems to think that we may be entering a cooling period much like in the 1950s-1970s after the warmer 1930s and 1940s. It would make sense since we have been warming since the 1980s, so it's about time for things to cool down a bit considering these things are all cynical.Comment
