I think it's really unprofessional for the people that run the place to say that to their employees.
Then just quit and cease your complaining.

Didn't you write a blog post wondering why you though everyone "hates" you, and yet you've been here complaining about having a job, not getting a job, having to work on your scheduled day (because someone who had the day off actually took it), etc.

Hell, I'd take your Panera job at this point immediately! I've been trying to get back into some work, any work, over the last month or two just for some extra income with all of our home expenses and I can't get ****! It's either because I've been home with my son for four years, am too qualified with a degree, or they can't schedule me during the day (8-4) when my son is in school (and we can't afford the aftercare/daycare).

Grow up, JJ...take some responsibility. Or maybe just "man up", isn't that what the kids are saying today?

I agree. JJ you should really be happy that you even have a job at this point with all the people getting laid off.

Personally I think all the "great post" comments are because it was directed towards me, but that's neither here nor there.

Not sure what complaining about my job has to do with my blog post, either.

Because what you're doing right now is the reason that some people don't like you.

I just wasn't aware that it was a cardinal rule to not complain or vent about things here. I grew up around my mom, a pessimist, so apparently it wore off on me, because 75% of the times I "complain", I don't think/know I am.

But apparently since people don't like it, I'll stop talking about my job. Not going to get anywhere in life if you piss people off and disagree with them. I follow that philosophy in everything else, so I might as well try it here.

Think what you want, but just be ******* ****ing grateful that you have a job and can ***** about it on a forum instead of dealing with real life problems like appliances going out, an increase in property taxes on a home you've been trying to sell for 15 months making money tight, and trying to keep an extremely smart child in private school where he can continue to be challenged and NOT being able to find work anywhere.

I could sit here and ***** about how I'm even thinking of working at a fast casual restaurant like Panera Bread when I have a Civil Engineering degree and how it's a step back but no, I'm content and will gladly take the eight bones an hour because I want to help my family. I was blessed to stay home for four years, raise my son, sacrifice my career in the short term (or maybe forever) because raising my son to be the kind, polite, loving child he is was worth it.

You sitting and talking about drinking all the ******* time, playing poker, and just *****ing about your gravy train life just pisses me and others off. Until you have responsibilities and can learn a little word called sacrifice, I hope you are content just sitting here thinking everyone hates you and how "rough" your life is washing dishes.

EDIT: And BOOM! goes the dynamite.

I don't hate you at all. I'm just saying that if you hate your job so much just quit and give it to someone else because there are people that would want it a lot more than you seem to

If that's all you got out of that post then I don't know what to tell you man. People are losing jobs left and right and you're complaining because you don't like the hours or someone won't cover for you. It's kinda ridiculous to complain abou that stuff in times like these.

Also, I wouldn't necessarily say that just because I don't have many responsibilities or because I'm not out in the "real world" yet disqualifies me from having anything to be stressed or bummed out about.

Work stresses me out. Thankfully, I had a good day there today because I tried to change my outlook on the place. I actually do have to pay bills for my apartment as well as car insurance which recently went up, and am having to penny pinch just to have enough to cover it. When you're only getting 100 dollar paychecks, it's kinda hard to make ends meet, which lead to why I was stressed out about not getting more hours. I know getting a job is not easy, which is why I won't quit and have just kept my mouth shut when they said that stuff to me. The only way I'll leave is if I find something elsewhere. Maybe I went about some things immaturely, and that's how I get when I get frustrated and angry with someone, and obviously I'll have to change that. Because I've had my fair share of direct argument/conflict in my childhood, I tend to avoid it now and go about things in other (potentially stupid) ways. I have my best friend scaring the **** out of me because she has an eating disorder that she won't get help for. It's not fun to deal with that. Kinda takes a toll on you when you see someone ruin their health like that.

While I understand and feel bad for you and your issues, I have my own too, and even though they're not as major as yours, they're still issues none the less. And I wasn't trying to be rude with this post, I really do hope you get your problems resolved.
