I find myself in this situation at times. I've always contributed it to nerves??

My sister can be really cruel and she'll do the Billy Madison "t-t-today junior!" and it drives me crazy, she's lucky she's my sister or we'd probly have thrown down over it by now.

It can be pretty bad sometimes when my mind just completely freezes in the middle of a sentence because of anxiety overload and I'm just kinda hung there on whatever word I was using with no clue where my sentence was going.
That's me as well. I have anxiety issues that aren't too bad unless I'm speaking. I've thought about taking low dose anxiety medication but I'm not sure about it yet. That's a last resort, because I would like to accomplish this without help of medication.

I don't really stutter in terms of me saying "t-t-t-today" it's more of a block where I can't breathe easy enough to have air pass through my vocal cords. I block and lock up and it takes a few seconds to get out of it.

When I speak I always say a lot of uh's and um's which pisses me off to no end. I speak very fast when feeling anxiety, which in turns leads to blocking, which leads to more anxiety. I just can't get over this hump of speaking softly and slowly to everyone, not just family/fiancee/friends.

I have been fortunate to not having to stutter, my issue is sometimes I think faster than I talk so I will sometimes struggle finishing sentences if I am speaking quickly.

My anxiety is so bad I'm actually technically disabled with a cocktail of related disorders. I don't really like anxiety meds but I've also never had the strong stuff because doctors are reluctant to prescribe something addictive that can be abused due to my medical history, which is odd because I've never abused medicine at any point in my life. But anyway, the ones I've had in the past just kinda slow me down and cause me to sleep a lot, which isn't really helpful. This might seem like an odd suggestion but have you ever tried 5 hour energy? I can't find any statements online backing my experience but for some reason that stuff seems to help me with anxiety. Like having energy boosts my mood and eases my nerves or something. I always prefer natural cures and remedies rather than chomping pills all day.

When I first obtained my position at the mental health agency I work at, my supervisor pointed out to me that I talk to fast when I am presenting something. It is really frustrating for me because I never notice it. So when I try to talk slower, it ends up sounding even worse. I just got certified as an instructor for Crisis Prevention Intervention and have taught 3 six hour classes. None of the individuals complained about it when I taught the classes but several of my co-workers still say that it is a problem for me.

Hmm, I haven't had 5 hour energy. Truthfully, it's crazy to say but I've never had a single energy drink in my life. The only one I remember having a drink of is a redbull/vodka at a bar when I was already pretty drunk, so I don't remember too much of the taste.

My problem is that when I meet people and go on sales meetings, I get anxiety where it's a struggle to say my name or try and make a sale. Around my fiancee, family, and the most part my friends, my speech is fine. When I get into certain circumstances, speech is tough. Especially on the phone.

My biggest thing is that I just need to slow down when I talk. Talking slowly and easily makes me pretty fluent, it's just when I get into situations when anxiety hits, I start talking way to fast and in turn, block/stutter on my speech.
