Re: Indecent Proposal
I would let my girlfriend of years and years (we don't believe in marriage) do it in an instant, but I know there is no way in hell that she would go for it. She is in her mid 30's and has only been with "single digits" if you know what I mean.Comment

Re: Indecent Proposal
I am about to get married, kinda like Limb. We have been together years and years and about to get married in the coming year or two.
I would allow this in a heart beat. But I like the way Pared was thinking. 1,000,000 and a Free pass lol.
But serious, if you and your wife could not look at in a "business sense" and make the sacrifice. Have no more house payments, no more worrying about college for kids, no more worrying about general every day to day worries would be far more of a advantage than the single time of her being with someone else.
Ohhhh I could only imagine what "retiring" would feel likeComment

Re: Indecent Proposal
I don't think anybody (I know this is an assumption) is overlooking the business side of this, that's the only reason most of us would even consider this. However in my case my personal moral belief would prevent me from agreeing to it, some will say well she's probably been with others before you (not too many virgins out there anymore) this is true, but to me two wrongs don't make a right.Comment

Re: Indecent Proposal
Yes. Not a doubt in my mind.
I'd do it for 500,000. Not having to worry about the future at all (assuming you are smart with said cash) > any feelings of regret. More than likely you're not her first... Or her last. Plus you can buy diamonds with that money, and diamonds conquer all.badComment

Re: Indecent Proposal
Agreed. It might sound ghey, but the trust and commitment factor and knowing that some things just are worth more than money would lend me to not even considering this offer. I'd never be able to look at things the same.Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.
You too can be a 5* recruit at FSU.......

Re: Indecent Proposal
Money can do alot for you, but it doesnt change my values or ethics.
What about this. You could get $1MM for skimming money off the books or by robbing someone. Its a million dollars, and would take care of all your financial woes, but there is risk there.
Personally, my trust in my wife, and the fact that we can look each other in the face everyday is worth more than that.Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.

Re: Indecent Proposal
Granted, nobody here will ever get divorced or be cheated on, so don't take the "your" as meaning anyone here, but merely the hypothetical marriage between 2 people.Comment

What if she was a mail-order bride?"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Indecent Proposal
It depends.
If it were some ordinary Joe off the street: No.
If it were some famous dude: Yes, I would tape it then use it to extort more money. Not to mention, significant others can cheat if it's with someone famous. If I were married and my wife told me she just cheated on me with Will Smith, I'd give her a high five.
I wonder why I'm not married...Too Old To Game Club

Re: Indecent Proposal
Im not gonna bs anyone and say anything... yes I was in a relationship for 3 years, without cheating and thought about proposing...
But cheating is not different than white collar crimes and such, and comparing the two is laughable imo. I would be able to look her in the eyes after, and be like... "Who's daddys little moneymaker? That's right, you are..."
It's pure business here, the only problem i would have is if she liked the dude and even then I wouldn't stop her because again... it's a million freakin dollars. My kids and my kids kids could go to college off of that.
Also, you can buy a new wife. And jet skiis. Those rock.badComment
