For me it's almost a necessity to have a dog. I don't think I can be with a girl that hated dogs, luckily all chicks that I like are dog lovers too.

You need to watch that dog training show on Animal Planet with that British chick, they had an episode with a dog exactly like that, it was literally a "man *****".

It isn't a matter of "just being overly protective", it's a legitimate problem that can (and should imho) be taken care of with the appropriate training.

I love my dog.. she's a beautiful 1 1/2 year old Siberian Husky with the baby blue eyes.. my wife is jealous because the dog gets more attention than she does!

Dogs are awesome. They never cease to amaze, and they each have such a distinct personality. I wished that they would live longer though. So sad, when they pass away.

I think it was some kind of terrier, can't remember. It was nuts though, had absolutely no problem with any female, but would not let a male anywhere near it.

Okay, thanks for the info. The good thing about my dog is that he'll let other males from outside of my family come close to him, but just not us. I'm definitely going to look for that episode though, because that would be a huge relief for me and my family.

The episode I was thinking of is titled "Boys vs. Girls". According to the AP site it's replaying on Feb. 14th and 15th.
