Tried a Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat on tap last night. I liked about the first 1/3 of it, but enjoyed it less the more I had. That's never a good thing.

Fall beers to be launched...SOON
If ya get the chance, Great Lakes just released their Octoberfest.
Its a Marzen/Oktoberfest w/ a spicy/malty taste,Coffee, w/ some caramels, balanced w/ a little hops. The 1st thing you'll notice is how SWEET it smells--perhaps some molasses or burnt sugar. it has a GREAT smell imo.Last edited by Motown; 09-02-2009, 07:40 PM.Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
What I drank last night. I had 1 of each of these.
Double Chocolate Stout
Verdict - Great beer, I just found the Chocolate a tad overpowering.
Anchor Porter
Verdict - Excellent Porter. A great beer if you like Porters
Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA
Verdict - For a IPA this is a great beer. I am not a huge IPA fan. I just don't dig alot of floral flavors. But there is something about this one I was really enjoying. I don't normally dig the high hops, but this one is a excellent IPA.

If you really like Hefeweizens then you absolutely MUST try a Weihenstephaner. It is the single greatest Hefeweizen in the world. I can get it on tap 365 days a year, but it may be hard to find for some folks. Keep your eyes peeled for it though and you'll thank me later.
And if you want to know how it is pronounced, say it like the name "Gwen Stefani" but change the G at the beginning to a V and completely drop the I at the end. Like so: VEN-STEH-FAHN.Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
I had my first seasonal beers when it comes to fall (not counting Spaten and Paulaner) last night. I had Flying Dog Dogtober, Buffalo Bill's Pumpkin Ale and Dogfish Head Punkin Ale.
Amazing beers, all three of them. The flavor of Buffalo Bill's was so good. I could honestly just leave a bottle of that sitting around my house as potpouri.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Lenenkugel's or however you spell it, Octoberfest beer isn't that good. A cheap ripoff of Sam Adams.
Did see some Harvest Moon at Target though. Definitely stocking up on that. Blue Moon seasonal's are the best.Twitter

You are in for a real treat, my friend! Make absolutely sure to pour it in a tall glass though and swirl it around to open up the flavor and the aroma a bit. I can assure you that you will love this beer.Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
This is a tip I advise for anyone looking to save a lot of money depending on how much you drink
go to MR.beer.com
There you can make your own brew...A lot of flavors too. Costs me 20-25 for 5-6 gallons.
It's saving me about 80 bucks in quality beer a month. Oh yeah this tastes better than retail beer....Trust me.Comment
