So...I turn 21 on Tuesday, and as is tradition I must buy a beer and post it on social media. And as weird as this sounds, I'm not exactly sure what I want my first legal purchase to be. I'm thinking a Canebrake but those can be pretty hard to find and I don't have a wide taste of beer because until now I had to make due with what I could get and didn't have much say.

      So, suggestions are welcome.

        I recommend Yeti.

Anyways, I need to visit this place:

Oak St. Drafthouse & Cocktail Parlor is located just east of the Downtown Denton Square in the city's third-oldest house. The historic house has been converted into a bar that serves a variety of craft beers and cocktails. The back patio is a large, kid- and dog-friendly space, perfect for those

Columbus Nightstick has to be one of my top beers I have had. Actually anything Columbus Brewing Company has made I have tried and loved.

I love blood oranges in alcohol. I frequently make blood orange margarita's for house parties and blood orange mojito's in the summer. Well I finally was able to grab a case of Flying Dog Blood Orange Ale. It says that it is brewed with blood orange pulp, but to be honest it is a very mellow flavor profile. I have 24 of them, so I will drink them this summer, but I was a little underwhelmed by the taste. I say a little because blood orange isn't a strong flavor in drinks to begin with.

Still though its a good beer, and with 7% ABV it still a good drinking one.

A buddy of mines tried that out. He said the same thing. He said it was very solid beer but he hardly could taste the blood orange flavor. Sounds similar to the old bay beer being that it is only a hint of the flavor.

A friend of mine from Louisville brought a couple of beers with him when he came to visit for the 4th. He said they were from a local brewery (Falls City Brewing, I believe?)

The first was one called Hipster Repellent. Not bad. A little too strong tasting for my liking.

The other was called Monty Python's Holy Grail Ale. Very good beer, in my opinion.

Falls City was a local brewery since before prohibition, then was sold off in the 70's and then shut down about 10 years ago. Recently someone got a hold of the name and started selling beer under it again, but it's not a local brew, it's contract brewed in Wisconsin and Nashville. It's not horrible, but it's not mind-blowingly great either. They should have brought something from Against The Grain, or maybe Apocalypse or even something from the BBC.

Monty Python's is British I do believe.
