    Very common, PA just sucks.

Finally within the last couple years they allowed grocery stores and gas stations to sell it but it still has to be sold separately from anything else you purchase and is done at a separate register.

Liquor will probably always be in it's own store.

We've got state-run liquor stores here, so all of that is there. Beer can be found at grocery/convenience stores or craft beer stores.

Total Wines & More have started cropping up around here the last few years. They're a store following the BevMo strategy. The one I've been in is always more expensive then Bevmo and doesn't have anything superior selection wise. Bevmo has more locations and is more widespread so I usually can find them before I find a Total Wines.

They both have way better selection then any grocery store or liquor store has.

My local Walmart sells them in different sections, but I'm guessing that's because of jackhole thievery.

Yeah it's very common (and yes PA is terrible... remember that from college). I work in northern VA and at a glance, it seems silly to have to go to a different store for liquor, but the benefit is grocery stores like Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and Wegmans have great selections for good prices.

Following my last reply, that's not true with some grocery stores. Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Wegmans and Harris Teeter all have great beer and wine selections. It's just too bad they can't sell either in Maryland.

The Fred Meyer close to my house has a great collection of beer and wine, especially local stuff. It's fantastic.

Stopped into Total Wine tonight after work. Holy crap, there's a ton of beer in that place. I'll definitely go back, just for the selection alone!

The price actually was a little cheaper, too. I found a beer that I had on tap this summer at a bar by my cabin, Mojo IPA from Boulder Brewing.

By the way, why are pumpkin beers completely gone? I found a few I wanted to keep jamming on, and instead, everyone's got their winter beers out. I wanted another six pack of Night Owl by Elysian!

They seem to be disappearing earlier and earlier every year.

Brewery's only make a set amount each year and they base it off of the previous year's production but they are picking up in popularity every year.

Oh well, I suppose I'm just going to have to deal with the delicious winter ales currently stocked in my fridge.

Well, to be technical, you said "better" not "more" and I think that's debatable. At least around these parts, the selections they have is great.

I think it's a given they have less to choose from since Total Wine only sells alcohol.
