Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
I actually saw some in Safeway tonight while getting some batteries for one of my daugther's xmas toys. I wanted to get it but it wasn't cold and I didn't feel like waiting. Ended up just getting a Shocktop Shockolate Wheat. Really had a taste for a Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout but they didn't have any so this was a consolation prize.Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
It has probably been posted on this thread before, but the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale is absolutely fantastic

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
I've heard a lot of good things about this stuff and happened to see it in the store today, so I picked some up for when I'm watching the games tomorrow. I'm very tempted to pop one now.Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
My drinking experiences are very limited. They only really involve shots of vodka and fireball and getting too drunk to remember when I was younger. I even got the hell beat out of me one party, lol. Anyway, I've been wanting to get into beer but never really liked the taste. I've only drank a few here and there. What's the best tasting beer you guys have ever tasted? I usually only drink Busch because it was simple and easy to get.Comment

One thing I will say, whatever you try, don't pound it like you would a Busch. Those beers are meant to get you drunk, to hell with the taste. Grab a bag of peanuts or pretzels (or pizza) and drink it like you would a soda with a meal. For some, even that's too much but since you're just starting I'll say just be mindful that you're looking for a beer that has a taste you like.Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
You won't like all of them, especially if you're used to drinking crappy light beer. But you'll start to get an idea of what you do like in terms of style... lager, amber, IPA, stout, porter, etc. You may actually like a really light beer and just need to find some "better" ones than you're used to.
Find a style that you like and then explore within that. The main thing I tell people (and do myself) is to not freak out after the first sip. If you are used to drinking water beer than a lot of non-light beers will be a shock to your pallet. Especially if it's on the darker side. There will be some that you just won't like though.
Your best bet is to research online (or read through this thread) and then go to a store that lets you create your own six pack. You can also do a thing at some restaurants called "flights". You get 4 (or however many the place happens to offer) 6-8oz (or however much) draft servings. It lets you try a number of different beers for the prize of two pints or whatever.
I still enjoy an ice cold Miller Lite too. So it's not like you have to fully convert.Comment
