Re: Your best ever moment as a sports fan?

Last year's superbowl win for the G-Men was the most excitment I've experienced for any win for any of my sports teams.

Next would have to be my first ever sports memory- The Rangers winning the 1994 Cup.

Then it would be the 2000 WS win over the Mets, just because of the intense trash talk that was going on in school between all the yankees and mets fans.

Last is Aaron Boone's home run over the sox, I'll never forget me watching with my dad then moving upstairs to the living room because I was so nervous I didn't want my dad to see me freaking out. Little while later we were both screaming in unison.
    Go Yankees
    Go Rangers
    Go Giants

          Mine is,
"20 years of trying, 20 years of frustration..."

As well as, when I was 10, outside an OTB I convinced my dad to bet on a horse, that went on to win the race, $10 came my way, as well as a future, possibly, unhealthy gambling hobby.
Don't you EVER read my blog? It's gotten a lot better.

              I have a couple:

              1. Aaron Boone walk-off
              2. Games 4 and 5 of the World Series in 2001
              3. Jason Arnott Stanley Cup winning OT goal in 2000.

I seriously wanted to punch Greg Davis in the mouth after that game. WSU had those flea sized LBs on a jailhouse blitz all game and Greg Davis (UT offensive coordinator) kept the QB under center taking 7 step drops. OMG so frustrating to watch. I cant believe he kept his job after that game..i kept yelling at the TV hoping Davis would hear my calls for a pass over the middle out of shotgun. So stupid. thats how you used to beat big12 teams though. load up the box and dare them to go deep. I think things are different now though . must have been nice as a WSU fan though.

                      1. MJ wins his first ring in '91. Everyone who is old enough knows it was about the Lakers, Celtics and Pistons from the 80's into 1990.

                      2. Michigan winning a share of the title back in '97.

                      3. The Michigan vs Texas Rose Bowl. Even though Texas won the game it was exciting all the way to the end. Whoever had the ball last would win. Steve Breaston set a Rose bowl record for all purpose yards. Vince Young did his thing.

1993 Joe Carter's HR to end the World Series.

Easily one of the best moments of my life as a sports fan.

Yeah it was easily one of the biggest wins in our program's history (which isn't saying much). But being able to beat the No.5 team in the nation when they were so heavily favored was a memory I'll never forget. I had always been a Coug fan, but that was the beginning of me becoming a fanatic.

Also, I'd say as just a sports fan...

                              Giants-Pats Super Bowl.

Red Sox winning the WS in 2004.

Boise St. beating Oklahoma in the Fiesta. Even though it's now made me despise most Boise St. fans.

                              George Mason's tournament run.

losing the last game of this past NFL season to finish with a perfect reverse. It was Awesome. Really. It was.

But seriously when the Nets beat the Celtics with Van Horn's three to get to the finals the first time. It helped i was seeing my friends band in a nice seedy bar to get strunk.
