I don't think I've ever been so excited. Without a doubt, my greatest moment as a fan. Better than the World Series win, just because of the way the NLCS ended.

All four of the Red Wings' Stanley Cups. 1997 and 2008 stand out a little more than the other two.

Some specifics for the Wings though...

-1996 Western Conference Quarterfinals, Game 7, Red Wings vs. Blues: 0-0 headed to sudden death at the Joe, winner advances to the conference finals...

        <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/PyGvN3szjZg&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd 311b"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/PyGvN3szjZg&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd 311b" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

1997 Stanley Cup Finals, Game 4: Nuff said. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RT0avmpsKk

1998 Stanley Cup Finals, Game 4: Vladdie gets wheeled onto the ice.

        <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/t9wICrXsF4I&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd 311b"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/t9wICrXsF4I&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd 311b" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

2002 Western Conference Finals, Game 7: After one of the greatest, most heartstopping series I've ever and will ever see, the Red Wings end it with a laugher, chasing Patty Wah and beating Colorado 7-0.

2002 Stanley Cup Finals, Game 3: Series tied 1-1, Red Wings tie it with less than 2:00 to go, and then they play deep into the night with the Hurricanes, and at 14:47 of the 3rd OT...

        <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/JIkdNTD5ugM&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd 311b"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/JIkdNTD5ugM&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd 311b" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

2008 Stanley Cup Finals, Game 6: The last 2:00 of this game nearly killed me. Couldn't believe they almost tied it at the very end.

        <object width="500" height="405"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/7DW1J5rmSIY&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd 311b&border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7DW1J5rmSIY&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd 311b&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="500" height="405"></embed></object>

Games 3 and 5 of the 2004 NBA Finals between the Pistons and Lakers. Game 3 because the Pistons whipped that *** so badly (88-68) I knew it was over after that. And Game 5 obviously because it was the clincher.

2005 Eastern Conference Finals, Game 7: Aside from maybe Game 6 in San Antonio or even Game 6 in Cleveland the next year, this was the last time the Pistons were the Pistons. Winning a Game 7 on the road against Shaq and Wade (even though he was hurt)...it's been all downhill ever since.

2006 ALDS and ALCS - I was just in awe when they beat the Yankees, and nearly in tears when Magglio's homerun sent them to the World Series.

        #1, though, of course...

          I'll add another one.

The Flyers run in the '03-'04 playoffs. They came up short in the ECFs against Tampa Bay, but I'll never forget how ridiculously well Keith Primeau played that year. He was simply on another level than everyone else. Not to mention Game 6 against the Lightning was the best hockey game I've ever seen.

Not an in-game moment...I think it was on March 19th, 1995 - when MJ anounced "I'm Back".

-New Jersey beaten Boston to go to the Finals and then getting back there again.

-Green Bay winning Super Bowl XXXI.

-Ryan Grant's playoff performance against Seattle in the playoffs in 08.

-Maryland winner the NC in 02. All of College Park was like one big *** party.

-Maryland beating the Dookies to win the ACC Tournament. Mike Jones! Who!?!

-Florida St winning the National Championship against Va. Tech in 99.

Honorable Mention: Witnessing Golden St pull off the biggest upset in NBA History when they knock out the Mavs in the first round. I never seen a crowd like theirs that showed so much emotion and joy.

#1 is probably the Mets winning the World Series in 1986. They had sucked as long as I had been alive, so it was sweet when we started winning in 1984. The championship just put the cherry on top.

#2 is the 2005 UNC National Title.

Games 3 and 5 of the 2006 NBA finals. Those comebacks by the Heat were nerve wracking and made me sick but having the game 4 blow out inbetween made it easier to take.

Golden State beating the the Mavs in the playoffs after the Mavs nearly won 70 games

UConn beating Texas in the Final Four in 2003. This was such a great game and i still love to watch it to this day. UConn was down seemingly the entire game and pretty much clawed their way to victory. Taurasi hit a 3 from nearly half court, winged a no look pass into the lane from just as far out, and had the game ending block for the win.

UConn beating the hell out of Penn State in the elite 8 in 2004. UConn was a 2 seed in their own building (HCC) and Win or lose it was going to be Taurasi's last home game and they just dismantled the 1 seed Penn State where i think Taurasi and Turner had just about as many points combined that the entire PSU team had the whole game. I dont think i've ever had a more satisfying experience watching a game. Usually im just more relieved my team won than happy but this was different, it was over within 10 minutes of the 1st half starting and i just enjoyed the beating.
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

I love seeing the fan reactions in some of these. I always have to rewind when they show the replay and you can see fans in the back either go from standing up to the sit down head-in-hands position. Or all at once see thousands of arms shoot up into the air.
