When the Celtics got KG and Ray Allen in the same off-season.

When Chelsea won the Champions League in 2012.

Many more, just can't think at the moment.

2005-2006 Buffalo Sabres playoff run. Damn I'm getting chills just typing this. The atmosphere in Buffalo was something I've never felt before, every single radio station was talking about it. You couldn't go anywhere without hearing about the Sabres. Flags everywhere, cars painted with Sabres logos and other things, everything was about the Sabres nothing else mattered. Everytime the song Better Days by the Goo Goo Dolls comes on I think of this season, the playoff run, the goals, the excitement.

I remember the 2OT goal game 1 against Philly how excited I was. The Brian Campbell hit on RJ Umberger. Then round 2 vs Ottawa Tim Connoly tieing the game 6-6 with 10 seconds and then Drury scoring 18 seconds into OT. Then I will never forget the Jason Pomminville to end the series against the Senators and the famous RJ quote

"Now do you believe, now do you believe. These guys are good scary good!"

My uncle was making plans to fly in for Nebraska and we were gonna get tickets if they made it to the Cup, I still believe if they hadn't had so many injuries to their defensemen we would have made it to the cup.

I still will never forget this season, the memories, the players like Pominville, Miller, Campbell, Afinigenov, Dumont, McKee this season will always have a special meaning to me and was a big part of my childhood

Re: Your best ever moment as a sports fan?

Gonna go with more recent stuff here, since I am able to fully appreciate these as an adult.

The 49ers winning the NFC West in 2011. It felt really satisfying knowing that they were able to clinch the division and make the playoffs after the dark years before that.

MNF vs Steelers in 2011 - The Blackout Game. My first ever MNF in person and it was awesome. Watching Ben Roethlisberger get thrown around by the SF defense was great. I was also able to tailgate and get some 49er alumni autographs before the game too. Got Brent Jones' autograph.

2011 NFC Divisional vs Saints. This game was a huge rollercoaster of emotions. Started up 17-0 and then the final minutes of the 4th nearly gave me a heart attack lol. I marked out big time when Vernon Davis caught the game winning TD with 9 seconds left. Awesome.

2012 NFC Divisional Playoff against Green Bay. I went to this game, it was my first time going to a playoff game. I had always seriously dreamed of going to a 49ers postseason game of some sort, and it finally happened. The atmosphere at Candlestick was incredible. I lost my voice for almost a week because of this game. Best game that I've ever attended, by far.

2012 NFC Championship Game against the Falcons. Finally making the Super Bowl after not having made it in what seemed like forever and having sat through the dark years was an amazing feeling. Couldn't have been happier that day.

            Duke and Butler was great.

Here's one off the radar but for some reason it sticks with me. Technically, not a sport though.

            1. Hulk Hogan turning on the WCW and joining the nWo was a great moment for me personally.

I've slowly but surely lost interest in wrestling since the Stone Cold and Rock days have long passed; almost to a point of despising it.

Game 6 of the 2010 ALCS. The moment Nelson Cruz hit that home run, I realized that the team that I had watched for years was finally going to the World Series. Amazing moment.

Re: Your best ever moment as a sports fan?

In all honesty, my best moment as a sports fan may have occurred on the high school level. My first coaching job was an 8th grade gig with a group of kids who may have won one game the season prior. As 8th graders, both the A and B team went winless. It was pretty brutal.

However, that group never stopped playing. Despite a lack of success, a lot of them loved the game and even when my coaching stint with them officially ended (i.e. when they moved on to high school), I continued taking them to camps, working and playing ball with them at open gyms, in the summer, on the street, and during my subsequent seasons as a quasi-assistant (worked with them in practice, ran against them in scrimmages, did not travel with team) and we all more or less lived and breathed the game together.

They struggled as freshman, were mediocre as sophomores, underwhelming as juniors and got off to a slow start as seniors. It all built up to them getting a little hot late and finding themselves in the district finals matching up against a team who'd defeated them by 30 just a few weeks earlier (then defeated them a second time even without their two best players).

That one game though, the District Championship, in front of the best home crowd I'd ever seen in that gym, every thing came together. The kid I'd played alongside for years who'd never hesitate to fire triples from 25ft. on the blacktop but refused to do so in real games, suddenly began dropping bombs. The big fellow with the balky attitude always looking for a bigger role accepted and thrived as a body needed for rebounding and routine jumphooks, then refused to slouch on the sidelines after he fouled out. The kid always yearning for more playing time accepted his two minutes of PT and played as hard as humanly possible. The youngster I'd known since he was three year old performing dribbling drills before his parents let him shoot around was finally meeting what appeared to be his destiny.

Everything just... came together. I sheepishly admit I was on the verge of tears on numerous occasions throughout the game watching it all unfold. My adrenaline was through the roof.

Then, in overtime, the opponent's 6'7'' center scored a bucket and drew a foul, tying the game and hitting the free throw to go up by one with 10 seconds remaining and no time outs. That led to this...

                <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/kaMiPPvOB44" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I was the first one on the floor (can be seen in a grey jacket in clip one if you look closely) and in all honesty, I'm not sure I ever experienced such triumph and joy at any other moment of my athletic livelihood, either in my own personal experiences or through professional teams I followed. They eventually lost a heartbreaker in the regional finals but for a team that'd previously accomplished nothing, that District title was the moment of a lifetime for everyone involved.

^ Great job with those kids.

And, hell of a job telling that story. Well done.

I guess I can include the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

No matter how it ends, I am so proud of the Bruins.

After being 11 minutes from elimination, they grabbed the momentum and ran with it. Beat the Rangers in New York, swept the almighty Penguins, and are back to the Final for the 2nd time in 3 years.

It's not anywhere near the best, but you can definitely add last night's Super Regional game 1 to the list. It was absolute chaos there last night. In the 8th it was every bit as crazy as Death Valley has gotten.

Not only that, it was one of the best pitching duels I have EVER seen
