Re: what famous people have you met???????
Pretty much met most of the Detroit Tigers during the 90's.
Met alot of the Minnesota Vikings. My wife works for them and has met them all and built a playground with them.
When I was in college I ran the shuttle bus and delivered room service for a hotel. Alot of bands would come stay there as there was a concert venue accross the road.
I drove Rob Zombie and his green haired girlfriend to the comic book store.
Drove a hopped up Ronnie James Dio to a bar while he screamed and tried to kick the windows out of the back of my van.
Unloaded BB Kings tour bus.
Delivered OJ to George Thorogood. Pretty sure he was just going to dump vodka into it. That dude had the yellowest teeth, just like the grinch.
Ate breakfast with George Clinton.
Met Kid Rock when he was still a Kid.
Met Jason Newsted of Metallica.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Re: what famous people have you met???????
Let's see...
I'm pretty good friends with Charles Barkley, usually hang out with him once every couple of months when he's back in Birmingham.
Met Dave Mustaine, of Metallica and Megadeth, at a Steak House in Hudson, Ohio.
Met Mel Gibson, Greg Kinnear, Sam Elliot, Madeline Stowe, Chris Klein and Kerri Russell when I was a soldier in the movie "We Were Soldiers". Part of it was filmed at Fort Benning in Columbus while I was at Auburn, which is only 30 minutes away. Awesome experience.
Met the Milf Hunter. Some of you may know the guy. Came to the club I manage in Birmingham.
Met the entire band Poison when they got a VIP room at my club.
Hang out with New York Jets Safety Kerry Rhodes (who's from Birmingham) a bunch. He's always going out when he's back home.
Bobby Bowden and my grandfather grew up together.
Met Peter Weller (RoboCop) when he stayed with my Grandfather while discussing a movie production in Alabama.AUBURN TIGERS

Re: what famous people have you met???????
I can't believe I forgot Barack Obama but somehow I always ended up in the front at every event he had and got to talk to him. I met Michelle Obama when she came to OSU.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: what famous people have you met???????
Unfortunately there's no real story to it: he lives in the Bay Area and has children, one of which I used to umpire in little league (Jerry Jr., who probably has to be like a senior in high school now). Jerry [Sr.] would always stand a few feet behind the backstop angled a little bit toward the right side, shades on and hands behind his back, sort of leaning forward and having that default "smile" looking face he wears most of the time. No one really tended to bother him, which was cool. Every so often between innings when I would go to my water bottle instead of my field umpire partner he would throw a word or two in.
I doubt he knows me by name anymore, but he used to. If I reminded him that I was "the umpire that helped your son off the field," he would probably know what I'm talking about and remember.
And son of a gun, I can't believe I didn't say this one either... I know Tom Brady on a personal level as well. It seems the ones I know best I just forget about. Anyway, my dad and his dad (Tom Sr.) used to coach softball back in the early 80s together for Tom's oldest sister, Maureen. They coached for like half a decade together. This was back when Tom was just Toddler Tommy. Anyway, Thanksgiving of 2000 we visited their family for a little reunion for my dad and their folks. This was actually before I really knew who he was. He talked some football and we played some catch, and honestly his name whizzed by me for the next year until I realized he was playing first string QB for Drew Bledsoe while he was injured. I stared at the screen for a second like, "Wait a second... I know him." Then I was like, "Oh crap, that was him?!" It was pretty funny.
If I ever told you guys that story before, I'm sure I would have wanted to stretch the truth saying I played football video games with him and crap. That's what I used to tell friends, but we never did that. I saw him again a couple of years ago because Maureen is now my little sister's pitching coach and he came down to see the family. He was just there in support for the young girls that had their lessons for the day just to give them a few words of encouragement, like the ol' "never give up and always try your hardest" stuff.

I actually talked to him as he was coming out of his trailer. He asked if I was a soldier at Fort Benning, I told him no, I was a student at Auburn, etc. We talked for a good 10 minutes or so. Nice guy. Short too.AUBURN TIGERS

I met Devin Harris at an autograph signing. For a guy that runs as fast as he does, he sure doesn't talk as fast.
If any of you guys follow soccer, Kenny Cooper is my cousin.
I've met Jorge Posada as some of my dads friends from Puerto Rico house him when he visits them.
That's really it, wish I could've met more.Comment
