    High Paying Part Time Jobs

    Know any?

I've been working at this spot that I'm getting $11 an hour.

But, I think my time is winding down there.

It's been nice because I've been able to go to school and only have to work about 15 hours a week, while still being able to pay my rent and pay for food and other expenses.

So I was wondering if any of you guys knew of any job where they pay at least $9+ starting off.

The only thing I can thing of is like Best Buy maybe.

Any thoughts from my fellow OSers?

Really, anything at all you can think of would be great.

I worked at a grocery distributor called SuperValu a few summers ago. They paid $11.75 per hour. I did work up to 40 hours per week, but I'm pretty sure I could have stayed on during the school year and worked a few days a week if I had the ability (I don't go to school near home).

I worked my *** off too. Essentially, I loaded grocery products from a HUGE warehouse onto pallets to be delivered to local grocery stores. Most of the time it was just stuff like paper towels or canned goods or candy or frozen dinners... but sometimes it was boxed meat and poultry, which weighed up to 120 lbs (but usually only 40 lbs or so).

It was a good job though... I made a ton of money that summer, stayed in decent shape by lifting things and walking, and realized that I definitely needed to stay in college because I didn't want to be doing that for the rest of my life.

I don't know where there are SuperValu distributors around the country, though... it might be more of a local thing.

That's if you can even find a job. The unemployment rate is 8.7% a full percent higher then the rest of the country!

Try your school. Anything that is part of the school or some foundation, etc, usually will pay more because its technically a government job. I got paid $10, which was almost twice the minimum wage in FL a few years ago at my school.

Road crews...with the stimulus money and summer road construction work starting to get into gear you can always find work with paving contractors. It's good money, you're outside, and the job ends around September.

While I hated supervising those chaps when I worked as an engineer, the crews were by and large a bunch of good guys and you do learn a lot.

Well, 8.7% is better than the US now and North Carolina is at almost 10% unemployment rate now (Yet another reason why I don't like living here, LOL).

However, since the Canadian Dollar isn't worth as much as the US Dollar (Well, for now, anyways), that $9.50 an hour isn't nearly as much as it seems. In US Dollars, that $9.50 an hour is only $7.66, as of today.

I've heard UPS is a good high paying part-time job. I don't know personally, just what I hear from others.

I work at a grocery store and I agree. Those boxes get mo foin heavy. I work in the Produce department, unloading the stupid cabbage pallet is the worst.

Yeah UPS and FED EX both offer part time jobs as loaders. I think the pay is decent if I remember right and I believe the have some tuition reimbursement. I think they both have evening shifts and morning shifts.

Try and find work at a Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams. While I don't work for a paint store but I do work for Benjamin Moore I know the store retailers pay well. It's an easy job too with some down time.

                          Distribution Centers

Wal Mart distribution STARTS at $13 an hour. I know the other DCs of other companies pay just as well.

You can't be a wussy though. You entire shift at WM DC if it is the food center will be in freezing temps. They give you a nice jumpsuit though.

Since when is $11/hr high paying?

Anyway, whoever said check UPS, do that. They pay the people who sort packages fairly well and are pretty flexible.

I did that as one of my 3 summer jobs while in college.=)
