Re: High Paying Part Time Jobs

I worked at Home Depot 3 summers ago as a summer job and made $10.50/hr starting out. Washington has a really high minimum wage though so that probably played a factor into me getting that kind of money starting out. Easy work, improves customer service skills, and it's better than bagging groceries.

There's also this telemarketing sort of place in town that pays like $9 an hour, but you have to work 3-11 or 4-12, even if you're part time. In other words, nothx.
Word. I just applied to Lowe's the other day. A friend said they were hiring around here. $9 would be nice... right now I'll take pretty much anything. Should've stuck it out with Olive Garden despite the poor management. That $9.50 an hour check was nice. Definitely was a mistake leaving there without another job lined up. That's what I've learned. :o

I worked at Lowes and it was a good job. As long as you know enough about your department, its not a problem. I was part time, but I also told them they couldn't schedule me more than 6 hours in a day. I did that so I wouldn't be working all day after having class or working all weekend. I started out after high school in the summer and they even let me transfer when I left for college, so I didn't have to find a job which can be tough when they know you won't be there long.

I second that Ocho - Personal Trainer is where it's at. You know I work in admissions at a school that offers PT? too bad you're in texas though.

But seriously - you make some decent change working part time.

Start a grass cutting business. Its summer and you can make 20-30 bucks a yard and do 5-10 yards a day. Its better than listing to retail managers or grumpy old women tell you what to do inside.

GREAT idea. Although $90 I think is WAYYY more then you will actually make as that would mean teams are paying $180 per game for 2 officials. Football officials don't even make that much and Texas loves it's sports.

But either way you will make quite a bit of money and only work after 4-5 pm.

              Try little league.

I know our local little league pays umpires $30 a game, 1.5 hour time limit. Look into doing little league so you don't have to travel and you can do many games a day. My friend did it and did about 12 games a week and brought home $360 a week(tax free).

I picked orders, loaded trucks, unloaded trailers.....if you have a forklift certification it would be good to tell them that, it really is a good job and good money.

you could probably search on google for a school in your area or if you have a job in that industry they might just invite them to your place of work and you can do it then.
