Re: Thunderstorms!!
I love it, I should have decided to be a meterologist instead of an engineer. Nothing better than standing outside and watching a wall cloud pass over you.Comment

Re: Thunderstorms!!
And the weird thing is that there is heavy snow falling not all that far away to the tune of 30-40 inches and blizzard conditions. It's in the mid 60s in central South Dakota with severe thunderstorms while western South Dakota is experiencing whiteout and blizzard conditions with damaging winds and crazy snowfall rates.
That's exactly what I'm trying to do! Engineer or meteorologist. At the moment, I'm leaning towards meteorology as it really is something I love. Either way, NC State or UNC-Asheville (the only two meteorology schools in North Carolina) seem to be the preferred institution of choice.
Now, do I like thunderstorms? Yes, but they simply don't compare to the awesomeness of snow and hurricanes!

Re: Thunderstorms!!
Storm to the north had a huge wallcloud earlier, it weakened. But currently there is a storm entering my county with a slight rotation nothing big, but a good storm is coming out of the south that has some potential, so entertainment for the whole night, YAY!Comment

Re: Thunderstorms!!
I haven't seen quite the caliber of storms that you all see there, but I have seen several severe storms in my lifetime. Don't get me wrong, I like thunderstorms, but I am a snow lover to the fullest. Too bad North Carolina isn't exactly the snowiest place in the world. We only get 9.2" per year on average here.

Re: Thunderstorms!!
I love a good storm. I'm a big fan of taking pictures of lightning using long exposures.
Here's a link to some of my pictures:
