Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
The one thing I love about these sites is the ability to move on if a date goes poorly. I had a few dates with this pretty cool girl, but I just couldn't see myself dating her so we will try to be friends. And then the next day after that talk, I started messaging a really cool girl that lives closer to me in Chapel Hill, we have a date for after Christmas.
Do you guys believe that it is important to set up a first date within a week or two of talking to the girl, or to take your time? I always try to set it up within a week or two of the initial conversation.
I love when someone talks about how straight forward and blunt they are in their profile, but then do everything they can to just avoid saying no.Comment

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
How long does it normally take to get a response?
I finally found someone I liked and messaged her over the weekend. Even though it said she's "very selective" about replying, she responded pretty much right away. But I haven't heard anything from her since.Comment

If they're gonna respond they'll do it within 3-5 days, but most of the time I get a response a day or two later if I get one at all.

How active are you guys on this?
Whenever I check the app, which is probably 2 times a week or so, on Locals I get pretty much the same chicks. It's not like I can click on show me more or anything, smh.Comment

Might need to venture into the match category.

CMH, you have any resources for profile tips? I'm good with words, but I tend to be wordy and feel like I always need to cut fluff out.

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
I've been on POF off and on for a few months now. Have had a few good contacts, but so far no dates, still kinda anxious about any possible dates but have a few lined up.
Also got on OK Cupid after reading through this thread. I think the big thing is going to be getting over that anxiety and going out on a few dates eventually. That and making sure the chicks aren't bat**** crazy if/when you meet them.Comment

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
I created one of these bishes mainly for shiggles right now. Not really concerned with fulfilling this part of my life presently but don't mind window shopping. Can someone tell me the best way of filtering out the trash for lack of a better term? My gawd, it feels like I got lost in the internet's trailer park. Also, I don't want to pay money.[NYK|DAL|VT]

I feel like online dating is going to be something i'll have to try down the road once I graduate college, unless I meet some people from the Tampa area i'll pretty much know no one to go out to a bar or something with or what not.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
Planning on dumping girl number 2 shortly, as girl number 3 is already in the process. Way more fun to be around than the former.
Also, a 4th girl is in the mix (however, I met her at work, not online) I don't even know what to do with myself!
Seriously though, okcupid hasn't failed me yet (in at least getting dates, and being shocked as to what they look or act like)Charger Fan Born and Raised!
