Exactly. Agree with Scott completely. There are some very deceitful people out there. Luckily, my girl was exactly as described!

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
actually that's not true, there are a lot of nice looking girls on www.plentyoffish.com but i speculate that pay services would work a bit better because people who pay would be actively using the service. i mean when i email someone on a free site who is to say they didn't post their profile a long time ago and no longer uses the site?
Also depends on what your definition of "nice looking" is.Comment

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
It depends on how old you are I think. If your under 25 just use myspace/facebook. Pretty easy to bone girls off there. Had one gf (now ex) offrom MS/FB and hooked up with about 4 others.Comment

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
I dated about 20 ladies who I met online, 3 or 4 of them became my girlfriends (depends how you define g/f). But some dates were weird...some ladies are just dumb or brainless, some don't know what the hell they're talking about, some told me "No" and then were all over me...! Yeah, there are many stories to be told...hahaMy Specs:

CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
GPU: Monochrome display
RAM: 48 KB

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
update to anyone whos interested...
i joined eharmony back in early may bc i had a promo code for 30 bucks for 3 months. It took forever to get setup bc of the personality quiz and intro. Matches fluctuate everyday..i can get as many as 8 one day, and 2-3 next day.
Long story short at one point i was in contact with 5 girls at a time and it was so hectic trying to keep up.
One of them i emailed frequently but then she went to Canada and i never heard back from again. Maybe i'll shoot her another email just for giggles.
This other one I talked to more and more and ended up meeting up within a week of talking. we went out 6 times and had some awkward kisses good nights, but i wanted to take it slow. Today we were supposed to meet up and she called after ignoring me on google chat that she doesnt think things were gonna work out between us and she wasnt coming out. I was in shock and basically just siad oh ok to everything...she threw the "friends" line but i dont need anymore friends. Also in shock because she initiated everything and talked about doing things in the future...and when i start getting into her...bam over.
Anyway, im tired of eharmony. girls either dont get back to me or live far away or not great looking. i dunno what to do...maybe hold off for now and just continue to focus on myself.Comment

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
I tried dating sites before. I was surprised how many women were attracted to a 29 yr old millionaire/astronaut/pediatrician that looks like Denzel & just wants someone to cuddle.
Seriously though. About 10-12 yrs ago, I was desperate to meet someone, but too shy to actually do something about it. Now that I'm about 10 days from turning 40, I really don't feel like the hassle of relationships. Just clutters up life. If there's some Halle Berry look-alike who just wants to sit home & watch the game & doesn't need to fill every moment w/a bunch of needless chatter, hook me up. Otherwise, I like fending for myself, by myself. Being somebody's somebody just ain't for eveybody.Originally posted by VP Richard M. Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
I really don't use sites to holla at chicks anymore. It seemed to make me lazier, plus it was usually 70% disappointment for me.Comment

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
How u go about getting chicks off facebook? For some reason, it seems like girls on facebook tend to talk only to those who know them in real life (even though these same chicks are on myspace, and will holla at the drop of a hat).

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
There was this FINE chick who sent me a friend request last week, and I don't know her at all. I accepted the request, but I have yet to say a word to her. I feel like I gotta say somethin (I have nothing else to lose) but I don't wanna come off as a jerk and ask "hey, why did u request me?" LOLComment

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
Yeah, I'm on facebook, but its mainly to keep in touch with people I know from school (grammar, HS, college). I rarely update my status and pictures, though I may occasionally comment on someone else's.

Example: Last night, someone obviously texted me by mistake. I replied & told him/or her so. They asked who's this? I told them does it matter? You got the wrong number. & they cussed me out.
I mean, what kinda nut goes off on someone that did just them a solid? The electronic age is creating a bunch of rude buttheads who have no idea how to react to people in a social setting. I don't want to get too involved w/people, especially in a romantic relationship over the web.Originally posted by VP Richard M. Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
If she is a chick. There R soooo many phonies out there, I just wouldn't want to expose myself to all the weirdos out there. That's why I chose my pseudonym. I wanted to remain as anonymous to the wack jobs as much as possible.

U right though, people don't know how to communicate anymore. Everywhere u go, u see people texting away. I guess its cool that u don't have to hear their annoying conversations, but the art of communication is lost on this generation. I'm not with this internet thing though as far as picking up women. I'd rather holla in person and get a guage of who they are. Anybody can create a facade online.Comment
