Here is what I did...don't just say "hey what's up?"... I read the profile of this girl who had True Blood in her profile. So I emailed her and just asked. Who her favorite True Blood character was.

People love to give their opinions of things they're interested in. It's the best way to opens dialogue and stand out IMO. Short and sweet too so it won't waste a bunch of your time either...

This!! You have to find that one thing in her profile that you can comment on or ask about. Another thing that I have found, dont comment at all about her looks until you have been talking for a while. Just from my experience.


I've gone out with a few from POF (its actually good in this area) and have had great success. Other than the one crazy chick that turned out to be a stage 5 clinger, they have all been nice women.

I second the actually giving the message some substance. It definitely will help you get replies.

On the flip side though, the last first message I sent only said "Hey beautiful." We've been together 3+ months, and see myself spending a very, very long time with her.

Yeah, I would also try and make my message not seem like a form letter. You need to mention things specific to them, otherwise they ignore because tons of guys send the same things to multiple women

I support the don't call the girl pretty. Don't even comment on anything that makes it seem like you're saying she's hot. She gets that all the time.

Of course you'll have those that like it like Mr. Hey Beautiful above.

I also started making fun of girls. Nothing super harmful. Just slight little jabs that forces them to defend themselves and prove their worth. Women love proving their worth.

Response rate has been great.

But it probably doesn't matter as I was recently match maked into a date by someone I know. And the friend is hot. Went on a date and she's better looking than her photo and really interesting. Planned a second date and gave been chatting. We will see how it goes but so far it's good. Then again, it's only one date.

Well I started to chat to 2 girls on OKC. One I made a response about her not liking Twilight, just making a remark that she's a closet fan and waiting in line for the premier. Only replies late at night but it's still something. Asked about her interests and just made small jokes and continue that talk.

The sad thing the two I'm chatting with aren't even near me. They're about 1-2 hours out. Oh well. Keep cupid searching.

Oh one girl did give me her number, we text now. Last night wanted to grab something to eat together, a small meet up, but once again my job ruined it because I work nights. Kinda bummed her out.

I was like wow! It's amazing that any of my messages will get read. And she said half of them were just "hi sexy" and "you DTF". Sad really for guys actually looking for something.

Crazy but not surprised. Always think it's good to know a female on these things so you can understand what they are going through.

Sometimes they aren't being rude when ignoring your message.

With a free dating website you are going to get that. These things are perfect tools for guys/girls just looking to hook up to find others with the same mindset.

It's like people going into online ranked games of Madden/2K and hoping they find a sim, mature opponent.

The last few women I have gone out with from POF and OK have all said that this was the case. The girl I am seeing right now said one guy actually asked if she would do a porno with him.................seriously, who says **** like that?

Well I signed up for both PoF and OKC a few days ago.

What the heck exactly am I supposed to do in PoF? That site is visually a complete mess. I have no idea what is happening at any time during my stay on the website, and it feels as if all I'm doing is messaging women at random based on a tiny thumbnail and nothing else: gambling but with women, lol. Like you know that one phrase that ends with a curse word and starts with "cluster"? Yeah... that's how I feel the instant I log in to PoF.

OKC seems to have a much smaller userbase but the layout is SO much better and easier to use. You get more information, in a neater way, and with more interesting stuff to do in the meantime while you wait for responses.

My only question with OKC... I don't see where some of you guys are saying you can see when someone likes you or something. I don't even see where I'd see such a notification, other than email, which I disabled.

What's you guys limit for a girl constantly flaking out on you? I'm usually a three strikes guy but I guess it varies depending on cuteness? Or not?

I normally give them one opportunity to flake out. There are so many women on there that unless she is flat-out amazing, I dont really waste too much energy trying to pursue them.

You will have to upgrade to get this feature................not sure what the fees are, but really not worth it IMO. Would be better spent on a Match.com membership.

If she flakes out once I put it on her to set up the next day/time to meet. If she flakes on that then I don't bother.

As far as messages, I just send a picture of my junk. Then I sit back and wait. It's like shooting fish in a barrel.
