Im a warriors, Giants, Niners fan.

Although i enjoy watching other PLAYERS play in thier respective sports, I couldnt physically root for another team.

The funny people are the ones who switch teams just because their team sucks, and then start rooting for an "up and coming" team and then refer to that team as "We"....

    that seriously drives me NUTS.

Kinda liek how half the warrior fan base in the bay area is now once again Laker fans, but when the kings were winning they were kings fans...

    Damn shame.

Haven't missed a Bucs Home game in 10 years and I re-scheduled my honeymoon because the original date was going to cause me to miss a game.

Yeah, I mean i Love the Chargers and everything. But I also root for the Texans just cause I want to see them succeed. However, when we play eachother, all that **** goes out the window

But yeah, I cried when the Chargers lost to the Pats in the playoffs 2 years ago (after our 14 - 2 season) as i was in attendance. My gf gave me the WTF treatment for that.

I broke up with her like 2 weeks later

I don't care what you say, you cannot be a Ravens & a Skins fan.

With baseball it gets complicated in my area because many people in my area (DC) supported the Orioles for so long but then the Nats came in.

I root for all local teams. There are players I like on other teams but if my team is playing their team, eff them.

Just like you said about the Ravens and Redskins, I cannot stand some Chicagoans who like the Cubs AND the Sox.

Can't do it. Pick a freaking team.

Co-sign. I really am only a die-hard for one team and one team only and that's Florida Gator football.

I may like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Indians and Browns, but my true fanhood lies with Gator football. When they lose a big game, I feel it bad and when they win against a rival or take home a title, I get so hyped I almost laugh at myself for getting so into it.

My worst feeling after any game was in 2006 when Florida lost to Auburn at Jordan Hare. I was just pissed and sick to my stomach at the same time. Very weird. I don't know why, but that game stands out. There are definitely others (some of the FSU losses especially), but that one just hurt.

I'm a diehard Miami Hurricanes fan, meaning that I don't just follow them when they're winning, and I don't just follow football. I love Canes baseball and basketball too (and other sports as well, although I don't really get to see much of them), and I'm about as die-hard a fan of Miami football as ever, even though they're down.

I love the Marlins and Heat as well, and I don't think I could root for any other NBA or MLB team. Since I'm not such a big NFL fan though, I wouldn't consider myself a diehard Dolphin fan. I like them and all, but I tend to root for any former Hurricanes in the NFL over a single team.

To me a die hard fan would own many objects of their team stuff. From hats to bath towels to toliet seat cover. Have their tv room painted the team colors.

add to that... no blatant fanboyism... ability to realistic about their team. Not overly pessimistic, but toned-down optimism.

That's part of being a fan of the sport in general. I can usually find one team to root for in a random game I'm watching, but that'll never supplant MY team. For better or worse I'm a Detroit fan (mostly worse )
I think what he means by that tho... is if the Wings play the Coyotes... yer all Wings... f* the Coyotes tonight! ya know? You're not going to be happy if the Coyotes beat your team... you will even probably hate them especially if they took em down in a Stanley Cup.

I love the Spurs in basketball, and like the Knicks (b/c I'm from NY), but if the Spurs play the Knicks... F* the Knicks.

I think we've gone over this before but I've always been annoyed by the people who have a million "favorite" teams in the same sport. Oh and the people who have no connection a school but is a fan of their college sports, and especially the people who claim to be fans of a school that they have no connection to but only for one sport while being fans of another school for a different sport.

I'm a "Chicago Guy" when it comes to sports, besides being a Hurricane fan.

Thing is I don't equate 'die hard' to 'unconditional love'.

I root for the Bears. I root only for the Bears, and always will. However. I will tear anyone on that team a new one if they deserve it. I will call out it's "stars" before anyone. I argue with most Bear fans who believe Urlacher can walk on water, etc. But I love the Bears.

I also will not pour my heart into a team that does not intend on winning. I was a Bulls fan since I was a little kid. Yes that was years before Jordan was even in College. I loved 'em when they sucked. I was a kid. As I grew up, and Jordan came to the team, obviously it was easier. When Krause ripped apart the team and gave his famous, "Players don't win championships, organizations win championships". I was devastated. BUt I still stood by them as they built with Brand, Artest, Miller. Then they ripped it apart again. All the B.S. "Through thick and thin" ad campaigns. I had enough. Krause wanted just to prove he could build a team w/out Jordan, and he coudn't. I got sick of it. So I was done. Now that they're coming back, and got a guy like Derrick Rose, I'm not jumping back on. I am still done with them. Partially because of the state of the league, partially because of what happened.

Blackhawks were the same story. Once upon a time was a huge fan. They abused their fans. I swore them off. Now they're good again, but I won't jump back on because of that. I wish them luck, but they're not my team anymore.

The Cubs....are the Cubs. I'm too bitter to talk about them much. BUt they have been trying to win the last few years so I'm supportive. But there's a LOT I don't like about the organization, and taht goes beyond the players. But I'm still a fan.

In college, I believe you support your teams no matter what, because it still is amateur athletics. I will support the 'Canes and Illini forever. Hell I still support DePaul basketball, even though it's painful.

Pretty much what you said...except for the other teams thing.

See, when the Browns left, I'll admit to becoming a bandwagon 49ers fan, because I was young...and nieve, but I actually still follow the 49'ers.

My biggest pet peeve is the people who root for the team that left your city. To this day, I cannot understand how people can root for the Ravens if you've lived in Cleveland your entire life. I don't understand it and I never will understand it.
