        Re: Tattoos?

I've got a tribal scorpion on one are and a custom design from a friend surrounding the Bavarian crest on the other. I regret nothing and have had them for about 5 years, I plan on getting more, just need to find a shop that I can trust. My only advice to the Op about getting a tat is that make sure it's something that you're going to want for the rest of your life, I know that's what everyone says but it's true.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

My only hesitation is tattoos seem to be really hit or miss. Sometimes I see one and it looks awesome, but other times they look tacky as hell and I wonder that dude was thinking. I don't wanna be the latter.

Learn your shops, ask around to the guys that have tats you think "look good", and be patient.

My tribal design faded and looked like **** by the time I got my second, but he filled it in (it's pure black) and now it's even and looks decent.

I have a gun on my right arm, a sword on my left arm, and a dragon on my back. I'm planning on getting some stuff on my neck and then I plan on being done.

I honestly think tattoos are pretty stupid, because once you get older you're probably gonna end up looking a little foolish.

But there is one tattoo I would consider: a cartoonish squished frog on the bottom of my foot. Very easy to hide and it would just be like a little inside joke for people that knew me well.

Granted, this would be extremely painful the first few weeks, since I'd have to walk on the foot. So I guess I'll have to save that plan until I'm bedridden or something for some reason...

It depends on what you get, and why you get it. All of mine are very personal to me, and I had them all personalized so that I know no one else could get the exact same one. It's been 10 years since I got my first one, and I don't regret it at all.

Here's mine the photos don't do the tattoos justice but they're the best I could be at the moment.

Anyone got a tat of their girl?

I coach HS basketball and this one dude had a tat of his baby mother. I was so disappointed in that decision. On his forearm at that.

I have one tat on my right shoulder. I have to keep it hidden and break it out only in the summers.

I feel for some kids that have these neck, face, fand, forearm tats that don't realize that it CAN (not always) lower their marketability and professionalism.
                          Concrete evidence/videos please

Even though I love my wife to death, and hope we never separate, I would never get a tat of her for two reasons. One, they look horrible unless you go to one of the insanely expensive artists that have waiting lists longer than Packers season tickets. Two, she would probably leave me just to show me how stupid it was.

Here's my ink (no, the towel is not mine). I also have infinity on my upper right arm, and plan on getting a Celtic Trinity on my left.
