So, I just watched The Hangover last night.

Dude on their was making a killing by "counting cards" in Blackjack.

    Anyone care to explain?

Because from what the movie showed (even though it's a movie), it seemed like the best strategy and gives the best chances to win.

If you have a good memory, counting cards is pretty easy if you stick to single or even double deck blackjack. On a six deck table (standard), or a table with an auto shuffler, it's close to impossible.

The basic idea of it is to watch the cards that come up, and basing it off how many cards are left in the deck. If several high cards have been dealt, odds are good that you can get a low card, and vice versa. There's a lot more to it that I'm sure you could google, but if you get caught doing it, you will also be arrested and blacklisted.

You won't be arrested you'll just be kicked out. Casinos are private enterprises who can refuse business to anyone. Continually win and they will ask you to leave.

I am having to go up to OK to work tonight. Was looking forward to stopping at the casino on the way back. Lost that excitement when I heard how stupid the rules were. You have to pay $.50 per hand of blackjack, then make your bet. I knew there were no craps, but I figured they had roulette. Nope. Oh well, I'll throw some money in a slot and let it ride. Don't see how they can make enough money to build these resorts.

Do they allow smoking in the indian casinos?

In terms of gambling, I usually play blackjack and craps. When I was in Vegas a month ago, I had the best luck and the most fun playing craps. I spent a good hour before the bar playing craps, getting free drinks and coming out with another extra $100 to spend at the bar.

You have to play the odds, and usually I play the six and the eight. I do not mess with the bets in the middle of the table betting on how the roll looks.

I spent my last two nights playing from 4-8 AM and 4-7 AM after the bar hammered. Unlike casinos in MI, they still serve after two and it is free drinks while you play.

I remember a post a few pages back talking about how blackjack, people may get annoyed of how you play at the table. Some people who play by the book, will get mad when a novice player takes their card or hits when they should not.

Well the reason I am going up to OK is because I deal blackjack for the fake casino parties. Hopefully I have picked up on some strategy

To me, far and away, craps is the best way to go. If you know how to play, and play conservatively, you can make money.

I used to take a set amount to the casino on a Friday night. I viewed it as entertainment money that I didn't care if I lost or not, I was having fun. I would go straight to the craps table and almost every time I would walk out with 10x what I came in with. In fact, I only ever lost twice. I also never bet the money I won...only gambled with what I came in with. When that was gone, I was done.

I went back in December and didn't enjoy it. I found the slot machines boring and don't really understand any of the games though. The people I went with seemed to enjoy themselves though. Everyone's different.

Well that is like going to a football game without knowing what is happening.

                        ---

Just got back from OK. Wasn't what I expected. Thousands of video slots with weird games I had no understanding of. I finally found some video poker. They had table games, but only saw 2 roulette and maybe 50 total tables so they were all packed. Had about 20+ more tables closed.

I'll wait until I can go to Vegas to go again. I like table games, slot machines and video poker are just boring. If I lose money I want to have fun doing it.

Roulette is definitely my go-to game.

Craps seems like it would be fun but I have no idea how to play.

I've been to out of state to gamble once, since I've been 21.

I set myself a limit and stuck with it. I played nothing but Blackjack and small money slots.. all while enjoying some free drinks.

I ended up coming home with $20 more than I had and it was a lot of fun.

Roulette is fun but a real money loser.

Craps is a good way to make some money, but I'm fuzzy on the rules myself.

When I go to casinos, I play poker. Gives me the longest amount of enjoyment, if I play smart.

If your going with your boys and want a fun table game where you can win big, play 3 card poker. It's easy, and its fun with a bunch of friends around the table. Stay bon queen 10 or higher. Easy.

Don't listen to people that say don't gamble, they generally are not people you want to g to Vegas with anyway.

Play and always keep all options open, gambling wiin in means is an effin blast. Sometimes.
