Exactly. Although I must go at bad times because it's been at minimum a 1 hour wait for most of the roller coasters. I even waited in line a few years ago for a little over 2 hours to ride one coaster.

I have a fear of heights, but I do enjoy riding roller coasters from time to time.

Dude, when I stepped off that thing and people were talking about how cool it was to whip through the little ski village set and all I could remember was my head getting bounced around at a couple of G's...I knew it was time to "retire" and not like a Brett Fauvre type retirement either.

I'm going to Disney World at the end of July, and they have a few decent coasters but it's more about the whole experience and not the pure thrill alone.

There's a ride at the 6 flags in New Jersey, supposedly the fastest coaster with the steepest drop yet. The Kingda Ka. 120mph with a flat 90 degree drop about 30-40 stories i believe. Now that's a coaster to be afraid of.

Because the ride is so steep, the coaster launches you from Zero-120mph immediately so you can reach the top where it then drops you to your death

When it works. Half of the times I go to Six Flags, Kingda Ka is always shut down for repairs.

I agree with the above poster that mentioned Alpengeist. I went to Busch Gardens a few summers ago, and that's probably my favorite roller coaster I've been on.

marshallfever, Cedar Point has the same ride only a bit lower to the ground and a bit slower (I believe it's called Top Thrill Dragster), and it doesn't have the hump after the huge drop. But I believe CP made it first as well, so Jersey decided to top it.

Oh, and whoever mentioned Six Flags Great America (which I will always remember it as Paramount's Great America), it ain't all that. There are like eight roller coasters, and only one is truly legit (I think now called Flight Deck, but formerly known as Top Gun). They used to have the first 'flying' roller coaster, Stealth, but that was taken down and there's now a water park in place of it. It's similar to Tatsu if you've been to Magic Mountain. Anyway, all I'm saying is if Great America is the biggest place you've been to, I urge you to check out Magic Mountain at least. It will make GA look like a sandbox compared to it.

I don't know any of the roller coasters you just mentioned, but I go to Six Flags Great America every year. Are you talking about the one in Gurnee, IL?

We have a few good rides here, and everyone's favorite is Raging Bull. It's only like 200 feet tall, but it's the fastest and highest we've got. There's also the Batman which is fun (and extremely quick), and V2 (Vertical Velocity), the latter being my personal favorite.

Kingda Ka is insane. It's still the tallest in the world (456 feet), but there's a ride going up in Germany called ringracer that's replacing it as fastest (this will go 134).

I actually prefer El Toro over Kingda Ka, and every other coaster I've been on besides Millennium Force at Cedar Point.

I ride coasters as a hobby, so I'm a lame *** and know a bit about them. It's what happens when you grow up 10 minutes from an amusement park (Knoebel's, home to one of the best wooden coasters in the country, Phoenix)

Oh and to the OP, Bizarro isn't actually new, it's just Superman: Ride of Steel repainted and re-themed. They did the same at Great Adventure with Medusa.

Eh, I guess not. There's one in Santa Clara, CA that used to be called Paramount's Great America. I just assumed that, since I know there has been new support for them, their new name was Six Flags Great America. I guess I'm mistaken.

Oh, Six Flags and other places have some awesome rides, no doubt...Cedar Point just has more awesome coasters combined...

If you're a coaster person you gotta go there at least once.

Yeah, both Great Americas were originally owned by Marriott when they opened, then the California park was sold to Paramount Parks and the Illinois park was solid to Six Flags. Paramount Parks sold their chain to Cedar Fair (the company that runs Cedar Point) and all of their parks (Canada's Wonderland, King's Dominion, King's Island, Great America, Carowinds) just dropped the Paramount name. Great America added "California's" to the front of it, so now it's just California's Great America.

The Six Flags you're thinking of might be Six Flags Discovery Kingdom which is in Vallejo.
