Just joined costco, and was excited to see wild caught sockeye salmon for $9.50/lb. Way cheaper than anything else I've ever seen. Not as good as king salmon, but still great.

Here are some of the great things we made late summer/early fall. Only ones I have pics of.
Lets see, we've got quinoa with black beans, avacadoes, tomatoes.
Curried coconut kale soup.
Indian spiced okra and butternut squash roasted with pine nuts.
Grilled pizzas, one with tomato and basil and the other with pesto and feta

I don't have specific recipes on me. When my wife and I cook, we usually find recipes from Mark Bittman (http://www.amazon.com/Cook-Everythin.../dp/0764578650 or there is an app for mobile phones) or my wife finds recipes on some food blogs.

What do you guys normally make for Christmas/Holidays?
I made apple crisp for Thanksgiving, which was my first time making it so I stuck with the Betty Crocker recipe. I also used dark brown sugar, which made the topping a bit darker than what I've had. It tasted delicious straight from the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream.

We always have sausage balls, hay stacks, and red velvet cake in the house during the holidays.
Last Christmas I made oreo balls after seeing the recipe in the OT thread. Good. God. Awesome.Twitter

I stuff a ham for Christmas. Sounds weird to most people but it is wonderful. Just something learned growing up in Southern MD. (The only place it is made and it goes back to colonial times).Comment

The only real tradition we do for Christmas is Slow Roasted Prime Rib, made by yours truly. Everything after that is a free for all for people to bring. Although poeple typically bring the same things. Mac and cheese, mashed new potatoes, greens, baked beans, etc..

I'm gonna try and make gingerbread cookies this year and of course sugar cookies with icing.
Last night I fried chicken (surprise), but instead of using breadcrumbs I rolled the chicken in a ranch dip packet with some celery flakes. It was quite tasty.
