Call animal control tell them these are horrible conditions even for a cat. That will atleast get rid of the cats. Bomb for fleas, clean up to get rid of the smell and give the homeowner a bill for supplies and labor or tell him you will just take it off the rent.

You're not doing much here to fight off the "cat people are weird" steretype.

All animal people are weird.

If anything, I'd say the average dog owner is weirder simply because of how much more attached they get.

I was going to say that anyone who refers to an animal as their "kid", "baby", "child" or anything of that sort should be sterilized, but it wouldn't really make a difference; nobody will ever love them anyway.

Only reaosn i moved in with this dude is because my studio just got robbed blind and i wanted to move out of the hood.. i knew his g/f and she said he had a room for rent (real cheap).

next thing i know were moving my stuff in and my nose hairs get burned off by the smell of cat **** and piss.

there was not much i could do.

now, when im home, i just sit in my room...all day i cant even go in the living room, ill get eaten alive by fleas

I'm sorry man but there is always a way out.. FIrst it's this guys house...It's his issue if he wants to live in filth. Second, there are sites like Craigslist with plenty of places for rent. Wheter it be a room or a small apartment.

Cats are awesome ... much better than dogs. They take care of themselves for the most part and you don't have to walk them. Plus, they actually kill birds, mice, and such, which is awesome. I love watching my cats break the neck of a poor bird and begin biting into the flesh and eating the entire bird.

That's because you don't feed them.

I'd dump the litter box in the middle of his floor and tell him keep the **** smell in his room...

When I was in the Marines one of my roomates brought home a dog w/o ever letting anyone know.

The dog would **** in the living room, and I'd pick it up and put it in his room, bed...didn't matter to me. I wasn't picking up his dog's **** and cleaning up after it so I put it in a place where he could find it and dispose of it. I would've kicked his *** anyways if he got out of line.

I eventually got real tired of the dog...it had chewed on an old couch my parents gave him. Yea the couch was a piece, but I didn't want the dog chewing it up.

I one day just opened up the sliding glass window, and let the dog wander off. The dude had not put him in the cage that day, and I came back and the living room was a wreck. Bye dog.

He never even got bent out of shape about it. I found out that he just didn't really give a **** about the dog...kinda like your roommate doesn't really give a **** about his cat.

Im not goign to clean up after this guys mess.

not even once even to prove a point...

Its his house and his filth.

Ive explained the situation, which btw there are still fleas in my room i was plucking them off my socks all ngiht last night...

I CAN'T bomb the house because the cat is in there...initially i was pissed at the cat, but, its not the cats fault it has fleas. So i will hold off harming it.

It really is just a real ****ty situation to be in.

I cant make this guy not be lazy.

The funniest part about it is hes about to get married in janurary...I feel sorry for his wife.

But dude...look for a place to live, if this guy is soo lazy he wont chase you for rent money, nor would he tyr and sue your ***, find a place then moveout one day when he not there. Don't lave him a forwarding address or anything.

If he takes you to small claims court than so be it. You might actually win. Take some photos to document the crap living conditions.

Go out and buy a flea collar for the cat. Do it a small favour.

Call the health department. In most areas your accomodations would have to be shut due to the poor and unhealty living conditions.

Also, never take a room before seeing the place and the place he lives in. I'm guessing you never saw the place before you moved in. If you did you would have said thanks but no thanks.

Seeing animals kill each other is good entertainment. That's just the way it is. I like watching nature do its thing.

I don't get along well with a lot of dogs, anyways. A few years ago I was playing football and some dog randomly came up and bit me in the butt. That was not too cool (And it hurt!) and I ended up having to go to the hospital to check to make sure I didn't have rabies (I didn't). It sucked.

That's because you don't feed them.

Oh, they eat. They eat too much, in fact, LOL; that's why they're so fat.

Great advice! Just midnight move one day and never look back the guy is too lazy to chase you down for sure. Take pictures just in case.

So am I correct in assuming that you'd rather be back in the hood worrying about getting robbed again than picking fleas off your socks? **** sucks man, I hope you can find a way to move elsewhere, because it doesn't seem like it'll get any better. Can't believe a dude like that is getting married.. WTF?
