It kills me that I just joined a gym, too. I'm spending $25/month and now I'm going to be working out at home. Blah.

I've been able to speed up the 1 hour workouts to 30 minutes, just fast forward the in between parts, pretty easy - and still as intense (if not more).

Yeah Tony is a blabber mouth, I hate when I'm holding a reverse warrior or one of the yoga poses and he seems to forget about it because he talking about the red head having skin like a 5 year old.

That's great that you were able to get in shape with this program due to health issues.
How much did your BP drop? Probably a ton....because this workout is intense. I jumped in with the guy at work once.....Jesus H!

Yeah, really if you just have the workouts listed on a sheet, you can go through them much faster.

Sometimes Tony will spend 25-30 seconds after you've finished one excersise talking and introducing the next one. It's nice the first or second time, but after that, you're like "hurry the hell up" If you just go into the next one, you'll knock off some time. Also, often times I'll finish my pull ups or push ups before them and just move on.

I think the biggest impact on the weight loss is the diet. In the first phase, the "fat burner" phase, it's a ton of protein and very little carbs. I lost 10 pounds in the first three weeks and only 5 after that. If you maintained a more balanced diet, I doubt you would drop much, if any weight. As you move through the phases, you add a higher mix of carbs.

First thing you do is a test to figure out what nutrition level you are based on weight, height, etc. This determines your daily portions/calories for each phase.

Phase 1: Fat Shredder: 50% Protein, 30% Carb, 20% Fat
Phase 2: Energy Booster: 40% Protein, 40% Carb, 20% Fat
Phase 3: Edurance Maxamizer: 20% Protein, 60% Carb, 20 % Fat

There are also three different intensities of the workouts you choose from initially based on your goals:

Lean, Classic and Doubles.

The lean doesn't include as many of the strengh or lifting excersies as classic and involves more cardio and core work and the doubles often has a morning and afternoon workout.

Also, everything is based on 8-10 reps of heavier weight if you want to bulkier muscles or 12-15 if you want leaner muscles, but that is pretty standard to all workouts, I believe.

I've stopped taking one of my meds, Azor. I'm still take chlonidine(sp) but hopefully after I lose 20 more pounds I can kick that also. The thing about hypertension is that it can be hereditary so I still may have higher than normal BP even after I lose 20 lbs but being overweight definitely was not helping. My BP runs in the 120/80 range now with just my one med. It's definitely an intense workout, if you can't get in shape with this, nothing will work for you.

Hmmm, I may try this out. I'm at about 250'ish after having been overweight all my life and 300+ most of my adulthood. As of now, I'm not fat, but definitely not lean, I guess you can say I'm built more like a fullback/linebacker due to my frame. At one point, I dropped down to 210 but at that time I lost nearly all my muscle mass & power.

I may give this a try AND post pictures. You guys got me motivated and nothing better for physical & mental growth than having to force oneself and push oneself.

So while on this, how many cals a day were u guys eating? I'm 6'0 205 and just wanna lose like 10 more lbs but the nutrition guide is telling me to eat 3000 calories a day. That just seems like a lot considering I'm eating about 1700 a day now.

When you do the workouts...you'll understand why.
Was it really 3000 though?! I don't remember reading it to be that high.

I think Level III has people eating 3000 calories, there's three different levels based on your weight and activity level.

I just started this Sunday. I've done chest & back + ab ripper x and plyos this morning. After doing chest/back, I could barely do half the exercises for ARX. It's insane.

I'm using resistance bands cuz dumbbells are way to expensive for me. I spent $35 on bands, and about $200 on whey protein, the multivitamins, protein bars, and recovery drink. Then I spent about $150 on groceries.

Plyos is crazy too, by the time I finished I just wanted to collapse. I almost felt like throwing up.

I'm also not a big fan of the recovery drink. Most people I've seen say the recovery drink tastes fantastic but I can barely stomach it. I do love how it works though. After Plyos at 10 am this morning I feel amped while I'm sitting in class right now.

The diet is what's going to be the hardest for me. I have no issue cutting out junk food and whatnot. I'm just not a good cook at all and as a college student, I really can't afford to be spending a large amount of money on groceries. Especially if I stick with this and have to spend $200 a month on a re-up. Also with classes in the afternoon, it's harder to fit the three meals in with all the snacks too. I didn't eat breakfast or lunch today. Frankly, after Plyos+recovery drink, I didn't want to eat anything. And with me being on campus sometimes for 6-7 hours, I'll have to eat here. If anyone has advice on the diet or made their own, please enlighten me.

I researched alternatives as well for the supplements and couldn't find anything that matched for the most part. If you guys have any suggestions, let me know.

Yea I'm 205 so after doing the math it says that I'm a level III, which is 3000 calories. But I think I'm just going to shoot for around 2500. I started yesterday as well...gonna do plyo in a few hours. See you in 90 days Ruff Ryder lol. Bring It!

I nearly got through P90X last year before the end of the semester came up and my accounting courses threw it off. I also have gotten a slew of "good" experiences since then confirming some of things I've read about nutrition, diet, etc. (Basically, I haven't held down a regular workout routine).

I'm pretty confident I'll be starting this in a week and a half. Don't know how I'll do with the diet, though. Planning on sticking to the workouts for sure.
