Anyone with back problems try this? And anyone doing it without their diet?

I'm interested in the idea of this - but not with a diet plan (I'm not ready for one), and I have lower back pain that I NEED to get rid of.

Yeah I have bad chronic back problems, spondylosisthesis. There are a few exercises I omit but overall this will tremendously help you by strengthening your core. If I take a week off from exercising (not just P90X, in general) it feels like my core melts and my back becomes a disaster. Yoga should really help you as well.

Great workout yesterday. I'm also getting more resistant to the ab exercises. Working up to about 23 reps each.

Not sure what I'm going to do about tonight. Just thinking about it has me falling asleep.

Damnit, I re-injured my quad (strain) from two weeks ago again on Tuesday night.

So that's yet another week without any P90x. We were supposed to start the LEAN program Monday, looks like it won't be for a while.

So sad

The good thing is the bruising has already started to show up on my quad, so that means the deep strain is starting to relax. At first I thought that was bad, but after speaking to the head Massage therapist at my school (i work in admissions) she said that is a great sign.

It's one of the vids, you do it during your "week off" in week 4.

I use Core and X Stretch in place of Yoga. Core is definitely one of my favorite workouts. Yoga just takes too long compared to the other X workouts. I get up every morning at 5a to workout which gives me enough time to hook up breakfast, get my kids ready for school..etc.
I'm not about to get up before 5a just to do Yoga...No Thanks!

I use Core and X Stretch in place of Yoga. Core is definitely one of my favorite workouts. Yoga just takes too long compared to the other X workouts. I get up every morning at 5a to workout which gives me enough time to hook up breakfast, get my kids ready for school..etc.

I vastly cutdown on the yoga work out, it's about 45 minutes now. An hour and a half of it is absurd. I went through the video and wrote down each stretch so I don't have to use the video anymore. I hold each stretch for 10 breaths and only do about 50% of the balance postures. I feel like Tony gets distracted during the video and holds some of the moving options for too long. So 10 breaths keeps things consistant and moving for me. I get a helluva stretch, feel the benefits and get it done in about half the time.

I agree on the core workout though, I like it a lot. It's tough to do during the weeks where you're lifting though because you're not giving your body much rest.

Very true, after core you do need to let your muscles recover. I'll give your technique a shot by cutting it down to under an hour. It's a great workout, and I do break a sweat so I'll try adding it next week. Aye I'm just happy a can do the crane now without slammin' my head on the ground..LOL! My wife has another Yoga dvd that I tried but stopped. I didn't get the same feel when doing Yoga X

Nope, I was unstretched in a full-out indoor soccer game. Took a full shot - POP! - killed me, worst pain I've ever felt on a soccer field.

This past Tuesday, after thinking I've healed completely, my stubborness got the best of me and went for a hard shot - same thing, if not worse.

I'm out for at least 2 weeks.

I have completed it...twice. It's a good program. The second time around I did it with my wife after our 3rd child (just this past April). It whipped her right back into shape.

It's not an easy program at all, especially for those who are looking to get in (or back in) to shape. However, for those at a lower fitness level, Tony (the instructor) explains ways to make each exercise easier, depending on fitness level.

All the commercial hype is real. I've been an avid fitness guy for 11 years, so I can say that I've seen gimmicks. P90X is the real deal.

I'm not currently using the program, but I will probably pick it up again for another 60-90 next spring - just to change things up. I'm currently in a heavier lifting phase.

Also, I thnk I still have all the workouts with discriptions in word document. I got them from somewhere, but can't recall where. It was nice, because I didn't always have to pop in the dvd for each routine.

I have a few questions if you could answer them.

Did you just buy it from the BeachBody website or get some deal somewhere else?

Where did you purchase your pullup bar and how much do you think I should pay for one that I can put on the door?

How important is it to buy a mat or do you think I can just use the carpeted floor in my room?
