I paid about 80 bucks for 2 20's and 2 25's at walmart, the weights are about 20 bucks a piece. They are expensive. I expected to go there and get like 15,20,25,30, all the way up but quickly realized I had to do installments. It worked out though cause I only needed 2 weight variations and then moved up a bit after each 90 day cycle.

Whew, just finished Day 2 with Plyometrics. I've been having a lot of fun so far and I feel good. The workouts kick my butt, but I look forward to them.

I think me and the fiancee are going to jump on this to get in shape for our wedding and I had a question.

Per Wikipedia, it says "The program requires an exercise mat, resistance bands or dumbbells and a pull-up bar for strength training exercises, Yoga blocks for the Yoga exercises, along with a sturdy chair."

Just wanted to see if you really do need all that stuff or if you can get by without some of it. What do you use as a substitute instead?

All you really "need" is: resistance bands or dumbbells and a pull-up bar for strength training exercises. When my wife and i did it she used the bands and i mostly used dumbbells and pull up bar.

And of course you need enough room in front of a tv to do it as well.

            GL it's a great workout.

How much room in front of a TV do you need? Just curious because our place is pretty small.

Should be ok in most standard rooms but you may have to modify sometimes when you are doing some of the plyometric type workouts that have you jumping around etc.

Not as good as dumbbells imo but they do work. My problem was that i decided to be cheap and get some off ebay at a low price. The old saying "you get what you pay for" was very true in this instance as I broke over half of them within a few weeks.

anyone going the band route, get BODYLASTICS. do an amazon search to find them. i have 2 sets (one for home and one for work). they are off the hook. they have a terrell owens edition band that is like 60 pounds resistance per hand. it is intense. they also have a lifetime warranty so if one snaps, just contact them and get it replaced. used the hell out of them, never had one break. also they are quality, metal d rings and clips for interchanging and stuff. they are pricey, like $50 for the set, but WELL worth it if this is the way you want to workout...

I was about to post this after I got done reading the last posts. Bodylastics is excellent. I have a pair of Powerblocks at home, and I'm thinking about getting another set of Bodylastics just to switch things up, that way I can do all my resistance training at home, and I can just do cardio when I go to the gym.

Bodylastics also has another level above the TO set, I think it's called "Strength and Fitness" or something like that. I may look into that one in a few weeks.

I'm gonna bump this up. For those of you all who have done this, if my wife & I are set on doing this, but do not have a doorway for a chinup bar, what is a good alternative?

Our living room is the only room we could really do it in... and the only door is the living room "front exterior" door, and an extremely wide hallway.

                          Thoughts?

I think you can use the bands if you have something higher up you can attach them to.

And many bands have a way to attach to a closed door.

I'm going to pick this up sometime this week. Need some advice from people who've done it.

What is everything I need besides the discs? Free weights or bands? Perfect Pushup? Chin up bar?

Any other advice people can give to me would be appreciated.
