If you want to be informed, you have to inform yourself. The clowns on TV aren't going to do it for you, unless you want to be brainwashed by MSNBC or Fox News.

Yep, I totally agree with this statement.....But its impossible. Every piece of information you get your hands on has already been filtered with someone's agenda. The only way to become informed is to have first hand accounts of what is happening. In other words, if you didn't see it for yourself in person, then you are going to have to rinse the data and try to get down to an unbiased root, but its nearly impossible.

But this is why I am always skeptical of news stories. They are always slanted to pull on heart strings or force an agenda whether you realize it or not.

I always take the stance that something is bogus to a degree until I have sufficient evidence otherwise.

Just step back for a moment and recall the crap that almost happened. The National Guard sent two aircraft up to the balloon - hundreds of EMTs and volunteers were on the ground ready for action, and the Air Force was getting prepared to do something. The resources and potential danger these men and women almost put themselves into and put forward was for nothing.

You sir, are a sick man. Your wife is just as horrible for cooperating, and the exploitation is sickening. You are both unfit to be parents and should never be allowed to be near children - even your own. Go **** yourselves, you are horrible, horrible people for wanting fifteen minutes of fame. Congratulations, you've received it. Now go away. Not only did the United States fear for Falcon's life, but the rest of the world did as well. Al-Jezeera, BBC, and any other news network along with millions of viewers and people prayed for the safety of your son. But instead, you wanted him to be missing - for the show. For the show.

Because of you, when children actually go missing, some people may start to think twice and wonder whether or not it is legitimate or another hoax. You have potentially put the lives of many children into danger as a result of even the slightest hiccup in search efforts due to questioning the legitimacy of whether or not someone is actually missing. You are horrible people and are unfit to understand anything greater than yourselves. You two should put yourselves in a helium balloon and let it pop 5,000 feet in the air.

There are many horrible people in the world, but you two created a new category of repugnance.

What an ***. I watched the music video he did with his kids........unreal. It might have been OK for teenagers,but not a 5,6 and 7 year olds. Disgusting.

I'm usually someone who tries to be neutral with morality. I've always believed it's subjective to the individual and circumstances on a case by case basis. However, those two? **** 'em.

But anyway, Jackdog, I trust your opinion and if you say the dude is a clown, just reaffirms my position that they guy is a whack job and protective services should be called in. He also needs to pay for this sham. I'd love to see the bill to the taxpayers. My guess $150,000 all said and done. Sad thing is, these tools probably profited from being on the Today show, etc. Which sucks because thats exactly what they set out to do at the kids expense.

The dad seems like a total *******. Not to mention he owes money in Hollywood deals which even makes this more believable that it is a hoax.

I'll say this, if this is a hoax, jail time. Someone mentioned community service but that is way too soft a punishment. Imagine if someone lost their life because medical personal couldn't get to them fast enough because too many were committed to this. You don't mess with stuff like this and get away with a slap on the wrist.
