On another note, I gotta get some advice on a seperate situation...
Last summer, I was hammered and ended up drunk facebook chatting some girl I sort of knew. (I know it's juvenile, but I have a TERRIBLE habit of doing that. It's only resulted in good things thus far, as it breaks the ice a bit, but I'm almost 22 and I feel like I need to get that stuff behind me.) We hadn't talked in probably two or three years, but we had a few classes together in high school and always flirted (at least I did... lol).
The next day she told me some of the stuff I said. It was nothing bad. I told her I thought she was pretty and that we should hang out. And, sober the next day, I asked her out again. Her reply was "maybe," so I let it go, figuring I didn't want to sound desperate.
A few weeks later, SHE drunk messaged me. We didn't talk about much, she just explained to me what she was doing and how she always hooks up with dudes in rock bands and this and that. I just laughed and went along with it.
I asked her out again a day or so afterward and got the "maybe" reply. Again, I didn't push it.
Then, she got a boyfriend, so I didn't hear from her for a few months until she messaged me the other night saying "what, no drunk messaging tonight?" I messaged her the next day saying she was just a few hours too early, and she laughed and the conversation ended.
I recently invited her to a party my friends and I are throwing on Saturday night, but she goes to Pitt while I'm at Penn State (3-hour drive), so I figured she wouldn't want to come, and she did in fact decline the invite.
So, I messaged her for the hell of it and said, "Why so quick to decline the invite to the party?" And she just said the it was so far away, but that it was tempting. Again, I didn't push the issue and didn't want to sound desperate.
But we continued to chat about some stuff and learned some other things we have in common. She mentioned she was a Pens fan and I told her about how I've interviewed Crosby and Max Talbot and met her favorite, Kris Letang.
She was like "OMG, how do I do that?"
"Intern at channel 2... and be a badass," I said.
She replied "well, I can't do either of those."
And I said that she especially couldn't be a badass. But she insisted she was and that she could prove it. I was like, "oh yeah? how?"
"Bam," she said.
And changed her response to the invitation to the party and now claims she's going to drive the three hours to party at PSU. As far as I know, she doesn't know anyone here to stay with or anything, and I don't know if she's coming with a friend or not (I would assume a girl wouldn't make that trip alone, though).
Sounds good, right?
