Yeah, she's just a 3 month old so still pretty low to the floor. And you're right, I'm trying to stop her from swallowing her food without chewing it. She just inhales it.

Feeding by hand or just putting out less food at a time to pace her will help. Adding a little warm water can also help.
Thanks man, I'll give the warm water a try.

Maybe try feeding more times a day then, so even if she inhales it, it won't be that much food on the stomach.

No problem. Did it help any? My sister said she would put a big object in her dog's bowl so he would have to work around to eat the food, slowing him down a bit. The food was basically a moat around it

Yeah it works, thanks man. I let it sit for a couple of minutes before I give it to her. The food is mushy by the time she's done so while she's still wolfing it down at least she isn't downing whole bits of dry food.

I was looking at a dish that does exactly what you described your sister does.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure she has German Shorthaired pointer in her after she's grown a little and looking at some old pictures of an old dog I had. Guess theres an actual breed called "Boxapoint" but she doesn't have a ton of Boxer features.

Smartest dog I've had in my life by far, very quick learner and good listener.

I have two dogs: Brandy a 6 year old lab/shep mix and Achilles a 2 year old American Bulldog

I don't know what I'd do without these two, they just have so much love to give and ask for nothing in return, they're always happy to see me come home. Achilles thinks he's a 10 pound lapdog, he just loves to curl up where ever you are.

Lots of great looking dogs OS!

This is another from back when they were two months:

They turned 3 months a couple weeks ago so I took some more pics.

Edit: I think I answered my own question by looking at the picture again in my post, I think it's the fact that he has long hair. My yorkie's hair is always short, and especially around his face, which we trim so it doesn't get dirty outside or when he's eating. Plus we hate brushing him, so short hair makes it a lot easier.

The one in the picture is about 9 pounds, but the vet has never said anything about him being overweight...he's just got a big frame.

The oldest one is 7 pounds and the youngest is around 5 pounds.

Our dogs - McCoy and Anna.

McCoy is a Yorkie we bought after Anna, who we grabbed a day before she was to be euthanized. She is a momma, but was found on the side of the road without her babies - definitely cruel beginnings for our sweetheart.

Now she's happier than ever, and the ultimate protector of McCoy. McCoy's name comes from our favorite show, Law and Order
