Re: OS Pups Thread!
No pics to share, but my little 9 lb shih tzu decided to be a badass today.
There's a large group of neighborhood cats that hang out on the opposite end of my parking lot, behind some dumpsters and a fence, maybe 20 of them. He always wants a shot at them but I always keep him tight on the leash so there's no incident.
Earlier today they were out in full force lounging around in the back of the lot, waiting for the guy that comes out to give them treats. There was slack on the leash so Emmett made a run for it and every single cat took off running for cover. This has never happened before, usually the cats just sort of ignore him, I guess the threat of him actually running full force for a few seconds was all it took to send them scattering.
This wasn't enough for the little guy. He dictated the direction of our walk so he'd climb up a grassy hill about 30-40 feet from where the cats were taking cover, stared them down and took a dump. Kicked his feet and snorted like a bull. It was awesome lol, little fella is getting up there in age so it was nice to let him have that moment.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Picked out our new pack member Buko. A 4 week old Boston Terrier. We still have another month before I can bring him home.

Re: OS Pups Thread!
My dogs love to go on hiking trails but I've been so busy this year we didn't have a chance to go until a couple weeks ago when we were in Kentucky for a weekend. They love all the exploring.
My dogs are getting older (9 yrs) but they still have a lot of energy in them which is great. Sadly though, the girl, Miley, is losing her sight. She is totally blind in the left eye now due to a detached retina. It kills me that I didn't do something sooner about it because the eye vet said a retina can be re-attached within a couple weeks of detaching. I knew her sight was getting worse but I had no idea that her retina had detached. Wish I had taken her to the eye vet sooner. She still plays a lot and can catch her frisbee, but she loses track of a tennis ball real easily. I guess the frisbee just floats longer so she can track it well. The scary thing though is that she has fallen into our pool twice in the past week because her depth perception isn't the best anymore. It's already too cold to swim, but pretty soon it is going to be really cold, so I've got to do something about it. I'm going to the hardware store this weekend to look into putting a metal fence around the pool.Attached Files

Re: OS Pups Thread!
Sorry to hear about that Kevin. How his her vision in her right eye? Maybe once she gets used to only seeing out of one eye she will get more used to her depth perception.
Do you have a pool cover? I'm not sure of the cost versus a fence, but maybe that would be something to look into as an alternative. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

I don't have a pool cover. I've been thinking about it this week. I would have to get a safety cover so she could just walk right over it, but I have a large L-shaped pool and a cover would run me around $3000 installed. I would totally do that, but a cover isn't going to help during the summer if her eye sight eventually totally goes away. I think a fence around the pool would be the safer option. That's going to be a pretty expensive option as well probably. But I'll do anything for these dogs, just have to decide what's the best and safest.

Re: OS Pups Thread!
He's Maltese/Yorkshire/Poodle......The MorkiePoo. It's nice because he's not shedding. Too smart for his own good though, he's a character and a thief. You know he's got something he shouldn't have. He runs past and does the perfect Pete Rose head first slide under the couch.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Knew it had to be Yorkie something!
How could you ever get mad at that face!? Thinking when I do get a dog that will be near the top of the list. No shedding is a big one for me. Have had black labs all my life and I'm ready to not have to brush and sweep every other day lolCubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles
